Hello everyone, Greetings from Singapore!

I have been on this forum for quite a while but havn't formally introduced myself. You can call me Dr Jengo, I'm from Singapore. I have been collecting since late 2009 and have a decent collection to date.

While I know most people here are collectors of Collectors' Edition, but I'm more of a figure collector. I love figurines more than anything else. However I do buy several CEs, LEs and SEs as well for the bonuses especially figures. Due to this, I have plenty of collectibles that are not figures. Also like buying novels and comics related to video games that expand the story and lore. I also do buy other game memorabilia. I don't have much rare or unique items in my collection but I do personally like my own collection :)

I also started up a blog on video games recently and I hope you guys can check it out.

Anyway, the reason why I decided to come out and say hello was because I finally have pictures. I have been taking pics over the past few weeks for my blog and I happen to be on medical leave today. Thought it will be a good day to finish this project and say hi over here at the same time.

That's all for now folks, got Kitana 10" and SubZero 18" statues as well as a Scorpion 1:2 bust still in boxes so no pics.

That is a lot of figures! How big are the ones at the bottom? They look a lot bigger than the other to me.

Actually those are statues, the Mortal Kombat ones are about 11" with the base. The darksider's statue, the tip is about 2-3 inches higher than that I believe. :thumb:

Thanks mike! The quality is good, have had no problems with them so far. I have Kitana as well and she's gorgeous. She's lighter than Sub Zero and Scorpion by quite a fair bit. But the detail is awesome. I think they are running low on stock for Kitana so do get one soon if you intend to.

Wow I never realised there were so many Assassins creed figures, you have opened my eyes!

It's an awesome collection of figures and the display is great to.........Those glass cabinets look like the Ikea detolf ones I have but I didn't know they did them in white....where did you buy those bad boys from?

Yes there are plenty of Assassins Creed figures. There are 3 that are already released which I have yet to get. Another 3 that are bound to be released. I love the figures but I'm wishing for more Altair and of course with AC3 and Liberation releasing at the end of the year, hoping to get figures of them too.

The cabinet is actually a Billy bookcase from IKEA as well. I chose glass doors instead of the default doors so that the front will be fully transparent.

Yea pretty expensive but I love it. There's a similar posed Death statue from the new Darksiders 2 in the works. Waiting to get that as well.
The pre-order figurine is cool too, hoping for a Death figurine too

I bought them from a seller on ebay. They are made by United Cutlery, who specialise in making prop knife replicas from movies and other media.

Nope real metal. They are pretty heavy and could weigh close or similar to the actual props in the movie. The blades are not sharpened to hurt but you wouldn't want kids playing with these things. I had to pay for a license to own these or it would have been confiscated by customs in Singapore.

These are the descriptions I found from amazon.

Sword of Shamsir
The blade is constructed of stainless steel with a false-edge. It has been distressed with battle-worn nicks to match the filming prop. The highly decorated hilt parts have been precisely cast from antique finished metal, with a hardwood grip, as seen in the film. The cast metal pommel features an intricately detailed pattern identical to the actual filming prop. The replica was created using the finest grade materials and craftsmanship available.

Dagger of Time
The blade is cast from solid metal, adorned with runes and gold colored highlights to match the filming prop. The highly decorated hilt parts have been precisely cast of metal and plated with real 18K antique gold. Highlighting the handle is a translucent quartzlike grip that houses the “time-altering” sand, as seen in the film. The pommel features a ruby accented jewel. This replica was created using the finest grade materials and craftsmanship available.

If I remember correctly, I paid close to USD $225 for both including shipping to Singapore from US. Prices seem to have dropped slightly since then

Is the tomahawk made from real materials (ie wood + metal)? Can you describe the interior of the box?

The seller told me its made of latex as well but it's of better quality. I'm very bad at deciphering materials so I'll describe the best I can. The head isn't metal, it's rubber so you can bend it. Clearly didn't look like it could until I touched it.

Feather is plastic. The handle seems slightly rough and it feels a bit like cloth and my wife says it's suede, the kind used in shoes. The middle part is rubber. The stringy stuff is synthetic twine.

The inside black part is velvet and has a invention in it so you can place the tomahawk snugly inside.

All these info is from my wife who studied textile fundamentals (I only knew today!) and she wants to charge us for her expertise. Lol!

Agree on the AC collection. Impressive line of figures and the collection keeps getting bigger. Got the 2 Connor statues on the way to me now and a couple more NECA figures that I'll be getting soon enough.. My display is getting too crowded!

@Platfus: You mean the "stuck" pages? Yea didn't try opening those.. Just flipped through the book, I usually read it thoroughly only after finishing the game.

Everyone's mom hates figurines I guess.. You gotta have good negotiation skills to keep them ;)

Same here Andy, if there is a figure in a CE of my favorite game, it's a definite buy for me. Most of the CEs I buy are mainly for the figures.

The batman one was really good but I didnt want to get it or I'll start wanting more Batman figures. Trying to stick mainly to Video game based collectible not comics.

I really want that gorgeous Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird Edition but it'll be sooo big and quite expensive too. So I will buy just Premium Edition I think and maybe Songbird statue separately later.

Hey what! NECA figures not made with love? They are awesome! Sure, they can't compare to the detail with the HotToys version but there is a huge difference in price. I understand but isn't bad.. You definitely can't compare the quality to Hot Toys and even PlayArts but it's good for the price if you know where to look. And with their range, it definitely looks better with more figures.

But like you said, to each his own :)

I was reading the comments on a R* newswire post and a R* guy said they don't plan to make a tommy figure.

Sucks that the least iconic protag is the only one who will get a statue. Better than none, but I think if I had the choice of one it would be tommy.

The wooden case the dominoes are in, definitely makes it stand out. Yes, have to agree Rockstar have the best merchandise out there. Just wish they will add 1/6 scale figures to that mix ;)

@Sand4fish: Thank you! Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time from PS2 was one of the games that really captivated me. I still feel it has the best ending of all the games I have played so of course I loved the movie.

Yup the Tomahawk and the Letter are quite rare as they were never sold to the public. Honoured to have them :)

P.S: You won't go to jail for chewing gum. I don't know where all these beliefs originated from. Someone told me that they heard we can be arrested for not flushing the toilet :pooryou:

I did have to pay fees to import the dagger and sword though, "License to import arms" or it would have been confiscated by Customs..

Nice GTA stuff there Veron. I was watching those auctions, definitely some good deals if I remember right.

The bags look like pot/drug baggies to me with the R* pattern. Which would make sense based on the game.

I used to live in Miri and use to travel to Singapore quite often for visa renewals, got to admit it's a fine city and the train system is next to brilliant.

I do remember hearing flips flops behind me of a girl running up to me telling me I'll be your girlfriend mister, I laughed so hard on that one.

Overall beautiful place to live and work imo.

The one that was posted by coma was from uk being sold. I believe there's one in Ubisoft Singapore. Whether it's the same model or even the same piece, I'm not very sure.

Those are probably model pieces made to copy into the game I think, just my guess. It's huge and will be a headache transporting it.

Thanks Mike, really liking the ship. Was regretting a little while fixing it up because the connectors were flimsy and getting bent so they stay in place but the reinforcements really helped to hold everything in place. Looks and feels solid now.

Wow, this one really looks awesome! she really looks beautiful, and her body is pretty hot :drool:
i like her pose, it is really dynamic, and the base is really cool with that giant hand and all that stuff, high quality from Pop Culture Shock Collectibles as usually!
it looks like the blue color is a bit shiny, thats nice!

if i could buy her for a good price, i also would take this one for my collection, but i think this wont be easy to get this beauty for a good price... Pop Culture Shock statues especially the Street Fighter figures going out for insane price when there sold out!

Yes it's a lovely piece. It's one of those times that the Statue itself convinced me to get it rather than the character.

The MK9 line is slightly less in demand compared to the Klassic line but I love the character and costume designs on those. Besides being a big MK fan, I still love it. You might be able to get one for a decent price but be sure to get from someone reliable or cover yourself with PayPal. It's a delicate statue. I'm glad mine was all ok.

Edit: I have both Mortal Kombat statues released by PCS so far. 9 from SycoCollectibles, but they have closed down already, if you know the news about them..

Just collected this badass on Friday! Emperor Shao Kahn! Sadly I have lost access to the DLSR camera at my previous job :( So all I have are iPhone pics. He's a stunner with all those spiked armour and huge hammer. Base is super heavy!

Again I prefered the standard version compared to the EX one. Solid piece this one.

oh yeah, this one is a badass for real, looks really massive with his big hammer! :swoon: he looks pretty large, almost 50cm? i really like his paint, it fits perfect with the base, a really nice master piece from PopCultureShock you have there!

The Ex. Edition was the Head without the mask if I remember correctly?

Your Mortal Kombat statues collection is very impressive, you could make the ultimate diorama with all this statues, cant wait to see more :drool:

I didn't measure it but others said it was 18 inches from the bottom to the head.

EX was with a spear instead of a hammer. The unmasked head was included in both versions. I'm in two minds about getting the EX as well haha but might have to pass. PCS are doing fantastic with their MK statues!

i just saw the pics from the ex., yeah the spear is nothing special, the hammer is much cooler! so there are 2 changeable heads also in the reg. editon, thats nice! but the head without the mask dont looks so cool, i only know shao khan with his mask, same here like the Kitana ex. head!

They aren't too bad but there is no one else to compare them to, in terms of statue preorders. They are cheaper than importing one yourself if that's what u mean, especially from sideshow and more recently PCS..

Service-wise, can't say much, only ordered 2 from them so far
