Hello,

My name is David, i'm a french guy of 24 years old and still a student (University, i'll be starting my first year of japanese license on septembre).

As for my gaming experience, i've been playing since i'm like 6 or 7 years old with pretty much everything i could play with. However, my most memorable gaming experience was with the game TMNT on NES. This game was so frustrating that i felt like throwing my controller on the ground and even today, i've yet to beat the game. I even bought it not too long ago just to give it a go and i just feel like a noob even more :lmao:

On a more serious note, after theses terrible memories brought by the nes, i've started playing snes with games like DBZ Hyperdimension and Mr Nutz. I don't quite remember how many months before or after it happened, but my uncle bought a megadrive II street fighter pack for me (it had 2 controllers or something, i don't remember since i don't even own that pack anymore and trust me i'm pissed), but it was a cool game and thanks to him, i ve had the chance to play Ristar too, which is one of my MD's fav game.

I also got into the PSX classics RPG's such as FFVII,VIII,IX, Grandia, and since then, i've pretty much started to remain into one type of games : RPG. I don't know why, but i just love playing RPG's. Having possibilities to new abilities for your characters, exploring a whole world, taking on some epic bosses and quests etc, i guess i just feel like it was made for me.

Guess i could keep on going, but it'd take too long, but i'll just say that my fav game of all time is Shenmue (on Dreamcast), because of it's story and gameplay, that game remains a masterpiece for me. Too bad we'll prolly never see it's ending, but i'll keep praying/hoping for Shenmue III to happen.

Oh and yeah, i'll try to upload pictures as soon as possible, but i tend to take many pictures just for one special pack (let's say xenosaga premium package), so i'll do my best to avoid flooding the forum with too many pictures.

About the cards, you're supposed to get a set of 6 cards when you purchase the game, but since i was working (freelance) in a video game shop when the game got released, i've just brought back 3 sets with me :cpatch:

And thanks about my collection. It was just a global view, i hope you'll like it even more when more pictures will be posted. But yeah, when you're collecting, what matters the most is that you like your own collection, right ? :thumb:

The Konamistyle set has been bought on a forum. I'm missing the V's one, but it shouldn't be too difficult to find it, it's just too expensive for my taste; so i'll wait for a better opportunity.

I'm also glad about Nobuo Uematsu, i can't wait for january. I'm going to his concert on november (paris), then on december, Masashi Hamauzu is coming to my city, so i'll see him (pics & can sign something aswell i think), then i'm going back to paris on january for distant worlds. Those 3 months will be wonderful =)

Yeah some collector's editions are a pain to get your hands on. The import shop nearby only managed to get 2 copies of each edition. I was lucky to get one of each, but yeah, the controller is definetly nice, but i'll prolly never play with it, i'ill stick to my old sixaxis that is not worth anything at all ;D

You're right. Sadly i've sold my firemen since then but it's not that rare so i'll try to get another copy whenever it's possible but yeah i'm an rpg type of gamer. Xenogears is one of my fav along with chrono cross and final fantasy IX.

Thanks for your kind comment ! Sadly and to be honest, last year i have moved to Japan (my gf lives here) and in order to start a new life, i had to sell most of my collection... I still have the Eternal Arcadia Box, the Final Fantasy 25th anniversary box signed by Nobuo Uematsu and some other stuff, but most of my famitsu dx pack and konami style genso suikoden had to be sold, and yeah writing this saddens me but i am still happy of the new life i am leading ! :thumb:

As for the Eternal Arcadia Box pictures, i would love to provide some but my collection is at my parents appartement (which is in France) so theres no way for me to take pictures right now. If i go on vacation this year, i will try to get some for you (even if youre better off checking on google haha).

I will slowly try to get back on my feet and start building a collection, directly from Japan. Being here is nice and yeah, its just like a JRPG Game's World. Everytime im going to Akihabara, i have to refrain from buying JRPG or i'd go down to 0 yen in 2 hours :beer:

First, i had the chance to meet Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (Shenmue's music composer) and had the chance to talk to him for like 20 minutes. This guy is awesome ! And above all of this, i got him to sign my cover (SAMPLE) of Shenmue, which has never been seen before (seems like i cant get my video to work on the forum, so simple link) :

I got it along the extremely rare Shenmue II Demo Disc (and even better, i have it brand new sealed!)

For anyone curious about the story of this disc, and if you are a Shenmue fan, its quite simple.

This GD ROM has been given to specific stores in Japan before Shenmue II comes out in order to promote it. However, people have heard of this rare demo disc during september 2009 only, so 8-9 years after it got released, that's crazy !

The sample cover i got with it has simply never been seen before so we have absolutely no info about it.

My update is done and wanted to finish it on my rare shenmue item.

Sure, PM me with the details about V, I know I can get it on Amazon still I believe (saw one recently) but would love to know your price. I ended up passing on that III that I was going to buy because I decided I'd rather not chase down the Fire Champion Plushie separately, so yeah, definitely interested if you see another for a good price! Again, fantastic haul my friend - some of the best RPGs in that stack right there! :drool:
