Call of Duty Black Ops II CEs announced

[Collector's Edition]

As many of you let us know, two CEs have been announced for the upcoming release of Activision's Call of Duty Black Ops II. slated for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 13th, its very likely that both of these editions will be available in large quantities world wide.

The Hardened Edition will retail for about $80 (USD) and feature a fancy box along with a SteelBook (G1 for 360 and G2 for PS3), a Soundtrack, some "Challenge Coins" and some bonus content: "Nuketown Zomebies" and "Nuketown 2025" among some additional in-game weapons and other bonuses.

The PS3 release will also include some dashboard themes, while the 360 release will include some Avatar items.

The Care Package edition will retail for about $180 (USD) and includes everything from the Hardened Edition except it looks to come in a massive crate to house all the content along with a remote controlled quad-copter based on the "MD-27 Dragonfire Drone". No really. I did a quick order simulation on my Amazon US account and it comes to:

this franchise is overhyped and huge!!!!!!!!!!!..there gonna churn out millions worldwide..and watch the price crash to $99 right after new years day...the company will milk the franchise for as much money as they can get,...yea borders 2 loot is somewhat limited, but that franchise is 1/10th of what call of duty is for marketing/branding sake'

That's my one qualm with collecting - will an item you preorder out of panic retain its value or will retailers slash the price to hell when they don't sell. My judgement on the Darksiders and Borderlands Collector's seems to have paid off but Call of Duty doesn't exactly have a fabulous track record :swoon:

A lot of the bigger CEs I've seen have dropped to less than half price (or close) within a month or two. I'm looking at you, Skyrim, SWTOR, Killzone 3, Call of Duty, etc :no: xx

I received it, lol funny to play with plane.

The steelbook is very nice. The game comes seperate from the care package, it was in a white padded envelope with activision logo on it and came in shipping box from activision (with big orange sticker not to sell before november 13th).

I do know in the United States any store that gets pre orders on collector editions usually puts them out on the shelf after 48 hours.

That is why when people walk into Walmart or Gamestop a few days after there are Care Packages or Loot Chests sitting on shelves.

Before I got out and blow $150 I don't necessarily have, this is important, do you guys think the care package edition is going to be like every other call of duty limited edition, in that it sells out at first but then tons sit around on shelves for a loooong time and drop in/maintain their price (MWF3 HE, Black ops PE, etc.) or this one is actually limited and should be picked up because it won't restock?

I have one pre ordered but if I can save the $155 it'll cost me and wait for a time when I have more money to comfortably buy it or better yet it drops a bit then I will. If not I have to pick it up tomorrow. What do you guys think will happen with this edition?

i got my CP edition in the US, and its amazing. If you have a chance to grab one I would definately do so!!!

The dragonfire is fun to play with, a little difficult to control but you get used to it pretty quick.
