3A MGS REX packing picture and shipping time

Hey guys, 3A just announced on their facebook that the long awaited MGS REX will be shipping out from October starting by Retailer version (Sideshow etc) and then followed by Bambaland version which includes snake pilot at the cockpit.

Here is the picture of the packaging! Not sure retail box or bambaland box no confirmation yet.

It'll most likely be Liquid Ocelot with Ray, as they have the MGS4 licence I believe, so the snake figure they included with Rex is Old Snake, and it is the ugliest figure I've ever seen! Looks like it was created by a 6 year old. Massive fail by 3A.

Eventhough they are slow, there are no other REX that is as good quality as this. I am quite disappointed in the "exclusive packaging" but I wont regret it.

At least their rep in facebook replies constantly unlike my iPad and Nexus case from Treegloo that took 7 months and still no news on my item. They gave me a fake shipping by lodging the item but did not give the package to post office. Worst of all their whole team is ignoring me.

It's not that it took forever to get here, it's more the fact that they told customers it would ship August last year, yet they are only shipping now, and retail customers are still kept in the dark. Just piss-poor customer service really. The figure ain't perfect either. It does have flaws, and for $500 and a 3 year wait, it really should be perfect. I ordered mine from Sideshow, so it's not a big deal to me as I didn't pay for it a year in advance, but honestly, if I had ordered from Bambaland like you guys I'd be pissed if some company had been sitting on my money for a year collecting interest and BS about the release date of the product.

Mine is held at customs now. Sigh. Good bye REX. Will probably be opened for full inspection and there will be missing pieces or broken joints after the inspection. Not including the possible dirt marks/ marker pen on the packaging.

It's not that. I'm a huge MGS fan, fell in love with the series ever since I played the first one, so when this became available I was overwhelmed with excitement and pre-ordered at Sideshow after missing out on the Bambaland pre-order, but after the lengthy delays and underwhelming video reviews I've see so far ( for such an expensive figure) I kinda lost interest. That'll probably change once I have it in hand, but I dunno, just not that excited for it right now. I'll probably change my mind once people start posting up pics of theirs though lol. Another factor for me is space, or lack of it, for such a large display item, and I could really use the money to be honest.

Yeah, I had that issue with mine. I was super excited about it, but then I won tickets to Gamescom, and at that point, release date was September (so just after I'd return from Gamescom), so instead of keeping money for REX, I thought "fuck it" and cancelled REX, lost my ?30 deposit, and used the money as spending money for Gamescom :haha: Kinda gutted that I don't have a REX on the way now, but I don't regret having spending money for Gamescom xx

Yeah, most high end collectibles increase in value over time, especially something like this as we're unlikely to see another Rex model again, so it probably will be worth a decent amount.

I think this piece will look epic displayed next to Ray, but knowing 3A, it'll be another 3 year wait before it's released lol.

No batteries included. Requires 6x AAA batteries. 3x for Laser gun, 3x for cockpit + shoulder light.

It is definitely huge. Especially the packaging box lol

I just bought it from Chaony Japan, delivery costs weren't as much as they said there.

Edit: And it's gone too, seems they had only 1 available, for some reason it's kind of scary though buying from a 3rd party seller on Amazon, but it does mention ThreeA and the Rex figure in the order, if it's the wrong thing i could always complain anyways.

If you completed MGS1 with the controller upside down you could unlock a special game mode where snake was transformed into a cat.

Unfortunately the first time you hid in a box the game ended and the cat would refuse to come out.

Finally got my Rex delivered from Sideshow and wow, the paint job on this thing is incredible! This is definitely the greatest collectible I own, I'm really glad I held onto my order. It does feel lighter than I expected (and also a bit cheap), but it's still awesome. Really love the details on this. Haven't fully unpacked it yet, just took it out of the box...It's still sitting in the styrofoam taped up. Don't really have anywhere to display it just yet, so I've put it back in the box for now. Need to build a suitable display case for it first. Space is definitely going to be an issue. Not sure where I'm going to put this yet as it is HUGE! Didn't realize it would be this big lol.
