Yeah, sorry. Logistical nightmare. Shipping mistakes are bad enough when the stakes are at a normal level, but promising specific numbers and then having it go sideways would be devastating, i think.
To say nothing of the extra damage to the art caused by the packers riffling through the stack every time they pack an order looking for a specific number instead of just grabbing from the top.
On top of which, we'd be charged a lot more because the warehouse people 1. wouldn't want to do it and so would charge accordingly, and 2. it's legitimately extra work. So we'd have to charge you guys more to make ends meet.
And if that weren't enough, there are lots of instances where we don't know the number of the item without breaking a seal or otherwise adding a bunch of extra work. That wouldn't be an issue with this art, I don't think, but if we wanted to send them along pre-rolled or something, then there would be no way to figure it out unless we had a different SKU for every number instead of one SKU and numbered products.
I could probably go on.....
Neat idea, but it doesn't scale.
