Trust me it's a good thing the Fed is privately regulated. It was done on purpose so that no element of the government could misuse the Fed and influence the monetary policy of the US to better their end goals
The privatization of the Fed is a very needed and good part of the checks and balance equation
But there is still
some government oversight as the president choose the chairmen of the Fed much like supreme court judges
