I'm with ya on the game art, but that's how FFs have been since the beginning. The in-game art was in no way comparable to concept or artbook-type art, most likely due to limitations in consoles. I remember reading through the FFVI/III SNES manual and being like "who are these weird looking people" cuz they didn't look anything like the sprites on the game
