Some members PMed me asking for more details about these docs. Figured I'd share my reply here:

Members of the U.S. gaming press attend as many as 5 preview events and hands-on session every week hosted by game publishers. So in order to give every game news outlet time to write their impressions, there's an embargo time set. Have you ever noticed that when sites like Destructoid, IGN, and Gamespot post preview articles about a specific game, it's always at the same time? That's because we're adhering to embargoes.
