I disagree with you, most of these "exclusive" editions not only do they cost more than the regular edition but come with a exchangeable whatever. Which I guess can justify their reason to why they cost more... But the McFarlane statue didn't cost extra and was different from the original one.
Also the artist proof was never announced as a "special" or "exclusive" edition they just made an artist proof (like most of the McFarlane statues)..
