Well, the statue is a small replica of the stone gate that Desmond crosses through at the beginning of the game, in order to access his ancestors memories. Yes, I do believe that it is official. It's extremely rare though as only a handful were ever made, and they were not available to the public.

Now, it's been a looooooong time since I've seen a picture of the actual statue, so I can't be sure that this is exactly what it looks like as my memory on how exactly it looks, is a little fuzzy; but that's the gist of it anyway.
