You actually ended up being one of the last ones on the waiting list with Rasul, Ingmar, and jonkhor ahead of you. But yeah, It's on its way to the UK, so no, not a good home. lol

I did end up finding that Halo 2 CE. The bad news is mine too suffers from the mysterious Halo 2 steelbook virus you mentioned. Not sure how this happens as my games are kept uber mint.
