That's always the gamble in this game though -- is the "rare" thing you're paying a ton of money to have "first" or "exclusively" going to remain so? Is it going to be mass-marketed at a later date or reprinted? One of the risks in this game I guess.
Hopefully those "original" ones have some sort of distinguishing mark or something to differentiate them for those who REALLY care. Others who are fans of the series will be happy to get one and those who jumped first on these (who in fact potentially showed the popularity of such an item) will still be happy to have some sort of feeling of exclusivity.
