I think our personalities must just differ somewhat, for me the first question
does matter because, granted I don't expect we'll ever get an answer at this point but I still
want an answer, an explanation of why I, and many others, were screwed about with only 6 days left until launch, especially after as Knight said, they did say that something would be said but more importantly, because many people that ordered it were screwed and missed out on any LE. (Although they're probably lucky after seeing the piss-poor Poundland quality of the one in the LE.)
I also don't really see how it's a superficial question, something went badly wrong but nobody finds out until only 6 days before release, by which point many miss out on the LE, personally I feel that deserves an explanation beyond leaving it up to retailers to have to explain about vague quality issues.
Although I do agree, I would love to know what happened/will happen to the ones that must have existed at some point and I'd love to get my hands on one like with the Fable 2 CE.
