PS VR looks like it will sell very well - it's much cheaper than other headsets and I've actually heard from a lot of people that they prefer PS VR to the rift or vive. Sure the cost will go down but as with anything that's the price you pay to play early.

I see a lot of people saying VR will be a fad like motion controls but I don't really see the connection. Motion controls replaced the controller, VR is more like a new type of screen. It could flop but PS VR is way more promising than anything you mentioned there.
Thats the thing, Move was market badly and it was intentionally made to fight Wii and Kinect, which was a bad thing because no one bothered released games with proper move supports except shovelware games and the whole motion control thing was falling off. Sony was too late in the party. Vita died because western dev's give up on them and the western toxic whiners are part of the problem. Look at Japan, their Vita game releases are fantastic and so many great titles are still being developed. Not to mention 20000 units of Vita was sold during last week in Japan. It is not Sony's fault that Vita died in the west, it is the gaming community as a whole decided to kill it.

VR on the other hand is not a replica of any technology, it is to increase immersion to the game, which games are ultimately trying to do. It is a step closer to total immersion experience.

I believe VR will make a difference and change how the future games are developed.
