Haha, I don't split editions, but I am certainly like a headless chicken when it comes to my collection.
Since we moved into this house in May, we've had a much bigger room for the collection (the bedroom, but it's waaay bigger than in the last house). Anyway, when everything was finally moved in, it looked like there was plenty of space for everything (at the time). Everything just got kinda placed anywhere on the shelves to start with, with the intention that it would be sorted out bit by bit. So decided to start unboxing things and having them out on display, and putting the boxes in our big storage cupboard, thinking that would give us more room. Well, that didn't account for all the new things coming in, so the floor has been taken over once again and I don't really know where anything is.
I mean, if you ask for a particular edition, I can say where in the room it's likely to be (for instance, most Nintendo things are together on one big set of shelves, etc) but with the amount that's on the floor now too, I can barely get into some of the shelves
I also don't keep things sealed. Sure there's some things that are still sealed, mainly due to not getting round to opening them yet (and I mean, some of these things are 3-4 years old haha, but keep getting pushed further into the backlog) but it's all made to be enjoyed and opened, so that's what I do
