In my opinion those developers aren't famous enough that their autographs are worth to be signed on the steelbook.

I guess we all have our preferences man. I have a few signed steelbooks in my collection, and I just like the fact that they stand out and there's a story behind them.
Also, from a rarity and value standpoint, I think a signed steelbook is worth more than an unsigned version of that same steelbook (especially if a big name developer or voice actor has signed it). I've seen plenty of signed steels on eBay sell for more money compared to their unsigned versions. So, there's definitely a preference and market out there for signed steels from collectors.
At the end of the day, getting signed/unsigned steels is just a matter of the collector's preference. Just like how some collectors only collect sealed steels.
