There is a couple reasons why it didn't sold-out imo.

First, Odyssey came out just a year after origins, vs Origins came out two years after Syndicate. So people were waiting for origins and there was a lot of hype around it, more than Odyssey. So when they saw this giant CE they jumped on it. Also, not everyone has $600 to put on a statue each year.

Second, Bayek does indeed feel more Assassin than Alexios and that might have turned off some people to buy the Alexios statue.

Third, the edition size. 999 of bayek vs 2000 of Alexios. That's twice as much of a statue from a less anticipated, less AC-ish game.

Finally, Ubisoft's choice of selling Bayek as a Collector's edition, but Alexios as a standalone statue, and for almost the same price. Lots of people collect only Collectors editions, so if it's not labbelled as such, they won't buy. They should have made the Alexios statue as a CE instead.

I got mine at 20% off with Ubi points when it came out and I am happy with it and with the price I paid. It could have been cheaper but I am always too scared of missing out and getting big heavy stuff in Canada can be quite complicated. It does suck for those who paid full price. At least now we know, 2000 units of a standalone statue is too high.
