I don't know how you'd know if they were official or not though is what I'm kind of getting at. Astro, through their site, had those exact caps available to purchase. If there were any differences between the purchasable ones and the ones given out as promo's though, I've no idea and it would be really hard to find out. I do know that you making the design through that link and finding a set that someone bought straight through the site is the same thing though.
Something like this is super weird. I get wanting the "actual" item, trust me. But in this case the "actual" item, and you making it, is the same thing. Kind of a gray area in terms of authenticity and your collection.
Maybe try emailing Astro about it? They
might have some insight on if there are differences between the promo, the purchasable set and you making your own? If the plastics they used changed X year, or printing style changed Y year then you have an idea at least?
