Re: Star Wars The Force Unleashed II Collector's Edition (Xbox 360) [NTSC]
I picked this up yesterday (pics should be up tonight or tomorrow)...
I must say I'm really disappointed in this CE
--------
First thing I noticed was that it was exceptionally light... I initially thought "damn I guess they neglected the SteelBook at the last minute" but that's not the case, it does indeed have a SteelBook inside but it's made of a different material or something because it feels cheap and almost lighter than a plastic case. It is an official "SteelBook" brand case so I don't know if they changed their manufacturing process or if this was a one time cheap deal for the game.
If this is a sign of SteelBooks to come then I might just stop collecting them.
------
The next thing is that this case has an ill-constructed plastic box holding everything together, it sits about as level as the crap-tacular Mortal Kombat vs DCU CE box... ok, it's not THAT bad, but it's close.
Sometimes when cases wont stand upright for photographing I'll put a razor blade under them to help level them out (as it acts like a really thin wedge), to prop this one up I had to stack 2 blades and it was still unstable.
------
Finally, and those who have bought this take heed... the box is sealed with those circular stickers over the flap. rather that cut seals like this I prefer to remove them, slowly pealing off the sticker with a razor blade... it started out ok and then the sticker just flopped off taking a semi-circular chunk of the artwork with it... just like the problems people had with the Dante's Inferno CEs...
Thankfully this happened on the top of the case, so the only "paint" that was removed from the plastic was the solid white of the top flap, had this occurred on the back and taken some of the actual art-work I'd be pissed.
after that happened I stuck the tape back on as best I could and just took a razor to it cutting the sticker instead.... I hate doing that but... eh, whatever.
-------
Though the most disappointing thing is the fact that inside that plastic box is nothing more than the steelbook, and a DVD-case-sized cardboard box that holds the USB drive... THATS IT.
