We can't feel too bad though, because the price they pay for games is seriously high.
For example, K illzone 3 Helghast Edition retails for $248 AUS or about £160 or $250 USD with current exchange rates. Which I believe is $120 USD more than the US pays for theirs  .

Because of the strength of our AUS dollar, many Australians have started to import more games than ever before in particular. We pay pretty bad prices here for games sold through retail outlets such as EBGames and GAME. So it's no surprise that I'd rather buy stuff online through places like Zavvi/The Hut, Dvd.co.uk, shopto.net and even GAME UK because I can get Europe-only editions and standard games for nearly 2-3x less than what I'd pay in the stores.
For example, the GT5 Signature edition here was selling for about $300 AUS = $300 US (haha). Although I'm not actually sure how much it was selling elsewhere.
