Re: Tomb Raider Pop-Up Stores in NYC and SF
Oh good! I was told this info was being embargoed a bit longer....
I'll have more specifics for you guys when I know a bit more about what info is being released elsewhere and when, but I've been saving at least one image to reveal here and nowhere else (until the galleries open anyway). Some additional details: The pop-up shops will have specially numbered editions of the art (the sizes of which I'll share in a follow-up post) and the chance to get some in-person signatures, but we've got additionals of almost all of the art to sell online for everyone that doesn't live in NY/SF. This came together pretty quickly, but I've been really impressed with what we got and there are quite a few more pieces that I want personally than I was expecting to.... Keep in mind that this is an art show more than a batch of Mass Effect lithos or something, so it's not going to be like traditional game-related art releases. There are lots of different interpretations of Lara and some enemies/places from the new game. You're not supposed to like all of them and (this is going to be hard for you guys) you're not supposed to want to buy them all. I think there are 16 pieces, so I just wanted to try to head off the "you guys are crazy to think we'd buy that much art" and "everyone in video games is getting so greedy" responses. Between commissioning the art and doing the lower edition sizes here, we're really just hoping to cover our costs while doing something a little interesting. Anyway, I hope you guys dig some of the stuff that comes out of this. I really think you'll like a lot of it, and hopefully there's enough variety that everyone that wants to can get a piece that they really enjoy. |

Re: Tomb Raider Pop-Up Stores in NYC and SF
Will any of the pieces of art that will be for sale at the show be exclusively sold at the show? You said almost all of the art will be for sale online, so I'm guessing that some will only be for sale at the physical stores.

Sounds really cool. I too would be interested in knowing which ones are only available at the store.

I'll just put this here for now. Will come back with more details in advance of Friday's releases. (The plan was to release two to three pieces per day, but there was a last minute audible/mixup and we posted all of them. I really did mean to post something exclusive, but now there's nothing left. I'll try to make it up by giving you guys more details.) |

Her stuff is really cool. She did a piece for us for the Alice art show, too:
She has a way of capturing subtle female poses and expressions that's just really mesmerizing, I think. Last edited by Treehouse_Ryan; 03-07-2013 at 05:33 PM. Reason: Added detail shot |
