Driver: San Francisco Limited Edition - PS3 & X360 (UK PAL)
I seem to vaguely remember posting this over a year ago, and the release was previously put on hiatus, but now seems likely that it will get a release this year
Originally due out last autumn, it is now due to be released on the 1st of September 2011 for £59.99 - I've personally had this held as a pre-order with GAME since last June! PS3 - http://www.game.co.uk/Games/PlayStation-3/Racing/Driver-San-Francisco-Limited-Edition/~r349879/ X360 - http://www.game.co.uk/Games/Xbox-360/Racing/Driver-San-Francisco-Limited-Edition/~r349878/ No word whether the model included is die cast, or whether it is just a cheap plastic moulded model, although I fear for the latter if other CE's (Eg, Mortal Kombat) are anything to go by... It's deceiving, as it appears to look like a die cast model, but I suppose such a thing would make the CE far too heavy to realistically ship Last edited by Gemini-Phoenix; 04-22-2011 at 03:12 AM. |

I haven't heard much about the game, Hopefully it doesn't turn into a duke nukem. |

Re: Driver: San Francisco Limited Edition - PS3 & X360 (UK PAL)
Just got an eMail from GAME about this. Seems the release date has now slipped to 2nd of September 2011... Not that I think one day matters much after nearly a year of delays
Looks like it is turning into the next Duke Nukem Forever! Lol! Quote:

Re: Driver San Francisco
Updated, thanks...
FYI the price is 69.99... we list the RRP as set by the publisher. Not whatever the discounted store price is... |

Re: Driver San Francisco
I see a lot of CE's with stupidly high RRP's for CE's, which end up being cheaper upon release day. For example, a large CE like HAlo Reach Legendary Edition may have had an RRP of around £150, but if the release price was only £99.99 then I think that's the price we should go with

Re: Driver San Francisco
So who's price do you go by?
If GAME is selling it for 99 and Play is selling it for 109 and Zavvi is selling it for 95 and the publisher's official store is selling at the RRP of 120? The point of including RRP is to determine how much a title has appreciated or depreciated from where the publisher initially valued the product. honestly if it's selling at a discount on day 1 that's a perfect example of why RRP should be in the database. Really RRP is the only "official" value a CE release will ever have, no matter how ridiculous it might seem, so to me that makes it an important data point to capture. I actually started writing a tool a while back that would automatically go out and fetch prices from retailers and track the average value of a game over time, and give people links to where they could find it cheapest but I've been distracted with all kinds of other feature requests particularly stuff like adding more consoles/portables/press kits to the database which has multiplied my back log of games that need to be added to the DB (and of course spending time to chip away at the back log of game updates) that it's been put pretty far on the back burner Last edited by twistedsymphony; 05-20-2011 at 10:15 PM. |
