Default A little something from my collection

Hello everyone! I've been lurking around the forums and homepage for at least 5 months now and decided that it was high time for me to finally register and be a part of the collector community.

Here's the abridged version of who I am and how I got here as there will be plenty of time to mingle over details later. I am 28 years old originally from the Philippines and residing in the United States. I have been collecting odd bits and ends be it in the form of promos, guides, standees and whatever glorious video game merchandise made its way to my home since I was 18 years old. I truly love video games and everything about them. Playing a video game and being able to bring forth emotions and attachment from an otherwise inanimate medium is the stuff great games are made of and what compels me to continually support franchises and companies through the purchase of special editions, autographs, reviews, video game related merchandise just to fuel that 'Gotta catch 'em all' mentality.

I'd like to consider myself fairly hardcore in video games as I have been playing for some time and sincerely believe it is a medium of art, but I am most definitely open to anything that I don't know about or haven't experienced yet.

And so, without further ado, let the games begin!

This is a microscopic reflection of my entire collection which encompasses both video games and figures. Funny story about figures is that I got into it because of my love of video game characters and it spiraled into a beast of its own. I'm in the middle of many life changing choices, so a lot of my things have been hanging in limbo.

To start things off, here are some SE/LE/CE that were in plain view sight at my place

I have no idea where my family stored my other MadCatz and Hori arcade sticks, but there are (2) MadCatz and (4) Hori missing from the picture.

Here's a nifty little item specially made for Breath of Fire III and given to only a handful of press and employees. I've been told that as little as 20 or 15 of these are in existence.

Here's the inside of the humidor box with various video game plushies because I haven't decided to take up cigar smoking

Devil May Cry decanter set that was given out to a handful of press and Capcom employees. I was told that this decanter set is limited to 20 or 15 as well.

Various Bioshock giveaways that I've wanted for a very long time such as Quain's Journal and the different kinds of splicer masks.

I remember I did every thing humanly possible to try to win one of these whether it was trying to clock in the fastest time on the Uncharted Home obstacle course and entering and placing third in an Uncharted tourney. Boo!

Here's Kos-Mos of Xenosaga fame. Just one of the many figures/statues in my arsenal.

Thanks for having me guys!

Wow! Very nice! So jealous of your Bioshock masks! >.< I saw them on ebay sometime ago with a pretty hefty price tag on them... >.< They were being sold individually I believe...

I see you have a Tales Of Vesperia Steelbook... I never did pick up one of those when ToV came out, and now I'm kicking myself.... >.<

Those Breath Of Fire boxes must be very limited, as I've never seen one before. lol Not that, that accounts for much. There loads I haven't seen or heard of! XD Looks very well made though! My GF would like those Harvest Moon plushies within! lol What's that in the lid of the box...? o.0 The three round things... Loos like speakers...

Very nice! ^o^ Look forward to seeing more when you find em.

@Cosmic Link: The BoF box is actually a humidor box designed to hold cigars. There's a neat fact about how Capcom took smoking out of the game, but I believe left it in the PAL version. I don't know if this item was given to media, but I got it from someone who knew the designer of this item.

@gurps: I have been a big fan of the Uncharted series since it's arrival on the PS3 as a launch title. I would tell everyone how awesome of a game it was. I did everything to go and win one including entering those contests. I, unfortunately, only placed third but got a signed copy of a poster.

@tall: Yeah, the Femme Fatale stick is going for inflated prices and is probably the most sought after of the Madcatz tourney sticks released.

@forever: I am technically challenged when it comes to making video, haha. I hope to overcome this challenge one day. A lot of my stuff is in limbo due to the sudden hiatus that I've taken.

@Andy: Thank you. I need to complete the collection with the remaining splicer masks that I don't have and other Bioshock promotional giveaways.

@buttah: I can take a picture of some of my figures boxed up and stacked because I haven't decided on an ideal way of displaying them. I've amassed over 500 figures after collecting for a year.

@Fitzgerald: Thanks for having me buddy. I'm a fellow pinay*

All you need these days is a decent smart phone w/ a camera. And you certainly don't have to be "technically savvy" to take an amateur video. Considering you have, what did you say, 500 figures?! among other things, it seems right for you to do a "walkthrough" video. Try it sometime! Or you could do what I've seen many others w/ very large collections do, and that is cram a huge part of the collection into 1 or 2 photos.

I'm finally taking flash's advice to do something like this even though I could have done it a long time. Completely off topic, I'm really late and noticed flash's new life. It is pretty shocking to hear that from any collector.

Here's a part of where my collection is stockpiled in:

As you can see, there's glimpses of some things here and there and a whole lot of items still in their shipping boxes. Here's some of the figures that I collect still unopened. I have a massive bunch of stuff in 3 different areas in addition to this. Suffice to say, I lose track of what I own and where everything is located at.

Welcome to the forum.

Wow you have what some consider their holy grail, Uncharted 2 Fortune Hunter Edition.

Some really nice items, can't wait for more.

Nice, the Femme Fatale TE stick! I was thinking of importing one but there were only 2 left on amazon/ebay at the time and costed a fortune.
