Post Must Have game lists - What you should own

Hello everyone,

Have you ever wondered which Castlevania games you should get? Konami released over 40 titles on almost every console and computers.
Do you always know on which platform you should buy a game?
Which games are worth collecting on a particular game system?

Well, I ask myself this kind of questions… All the time. This is why for a year and a half now, I try to know for each game which edition from where and on which platform should I buy a game. So far, I’ve listed more than 1600 games.
So I've decided to share it with you. Actually, I also need your help to keep the list up to date, to define the basic rules to find which game goes where and just because there are some Game systems I don’t know much about.

I've put in place some basic guide lines to determine if a game belongs to a platform or another. Most of the time, these rules are ok but there are of course some exceptions.
1 – Gameplay and content over graphics: Assassin's Creed II looks better on PC but there is some special content when you link the game AC:Revelations on PSP
2 – 1st editions over GOTY editions: why would you like the 5 year anniversary edition of Oblivion if you can get the Collector + every good add-on on box separately?
3 – Physical media over downloadable one: no explanation needed here, I guess ^^.
4 – Graphics and sound over nostalgia: I played Metal Gear Solid and Tomb Raider on Playstation but they are bug patched, anti-aliased and with digital audio and video on PC (plus you can still play with a Dual Shock 3 or a 360 Gamepad if you want it to).

So what if you already have a game in this list but not in the same version? You’re probably ok with it. There are just too many Ultra Collector editions to get them all. The lists are mainly there for your information.

Note : I’m from Belgium. So for console games, I choose PAL over NTSC games. No big changes for you wherever you live because 99% of games sold in Europe have been released on US and Japan as well. If the game have more content or wasn’t even sold on Europe, I choose US games over Japanese ones just because of the language. So, don’t take too much attention on this.

no think it is one persons opinion on what they deem to be the definative version of a game

koma fingers must hurt from typing

there is nothing in this world i beleive i must have, just things i like to have, good luck with your list but i dont think you will will ever get mass agreement on the best version of a game with regards to gameplay, graphics etc

Three wii games I would add are

Cursed mountain Limited edition
Tales of symphonia dawn of the new world
Fragile Dreams - remake

in terms of releases that had a limited edition release.

A Boy and his Blob - Play.com artcards
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was also in the trilogy edition which in the US was a rare steelbook
Monster Hunter Tri came as a hunter edition, this is the ultimate version.
Okami - HMV UK had a Slipcase edition, very rare.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl Limited edition included a Slipcase and artcards

Personally there are a few items I would add and a few I was remove but that is just me.

@Xmo and comaamen86 :
Actually, I'm seeking to get a list of "Must have" games. Maybe I should change the title. The goal here is just to find the best version of each good game based on people's opinion.

@gurpswoo1 :
Thanks for your post. I added your suggestions. If you add other remarks, please tell me, this is the point of this thread, I'll try to please everybody

Btw, I've just added some new stuff.

Thanks Xmo,

I added your suggestions. I've just let Splinter Cell: Conviction CE to the PC version as it has the same content in it.

33 more games added.

I only took a quick look at some of the lists and I believe Castlevania III on the nes is called Dracula's Curse and not vampire's Kiss. Vampire's kiss is the Snes game.
