Hey we all start somewhere.

Roughly over almost 2 years ago, I had no clue either.

G1 is DVD case size. So meaning Xbox 360 games case.

G2 is bluray size; so PS3 games case.

Lyrical is spot on of course and about that we have all asked this question at some point

Just to add - the g stands for generation - g1, generation 1 were the earlier dvd format until along came g2, generation 2, the blu rays - just makes it easier to remember which is which until it becomes second nature
