Personally if that happened i wouldnt be sitting on me bum writting emails,i would be on the phone trying to get it resolved. If that doesnt work i would show up at their doorstep demanding satisfaction. If you pay for something you expect to recieve it in good if not perfect condition

Actually, thinking about it for a bit,it seems paying by paypal would be the go then you can open an item not as described dispute Dont know how far you would get but surely it would be covered under this catergory in the dispute resolution thingy

the best way would be to pre order it one day before release to qualify for the pre order bonuses and pay with your credit card via PayPal
This way you qualify for PayPal's buyer protection and also several sub sections of your credit card agreement plus laws of the land under the distance buying agreement (or whatever you local variation is called)
Plus your standard statutory rights that's at least 4 forms of cover and all can work independently of each other so it would be possible to commit fraud this way but you would be caught for sure and who would consider committing fraud for the price of one measly CE

That would work, even if you did it a week or two before release so in theory its delivered near release date. You would still be covered as you have 45 days to make a claim,so if you dont get a straight answer from the supplier then you just make a claim. If they dont respond to that within a set timeframe you get your money back instantly. Problem solved & disaster averted, well sort of as you would still end up with damaged goods So you would have to order another copy,if they let you

True
But with a small update, paying with a credit card through PayPal offers zero cover from the credit card company according to a credit advisor I just had contact with, but paying direct even a small amount 1 penny / cent still covers you for the full amount via credit card but online sales rarely let you split a bill between 2 payment methods

In the US, you can file a chargeback with your credit card company if something goes terribly awry and it gets you your money back

It's kind of a worst case scenario solution as it takes the money back from paypal so paypal no like

But because of laws here paypal has to accept it although sellers have recourse actions and such

It usually works out ok so long as your reasoning was justified

Its the same here in the UK but I was told that if PayPal was involved that the rules that apply to allow a charge back to happen would not be acceptable, probably for the reason that PayPal have there own methods in place
But I don't have a credit card so have not researched the issue
Although I am also in aware if a bank /debit /current account can also do a charge back

Hmmm I know numerous occasions when people just chargeback if paypal try to screw them or takes too long (chargebacks have a time limit as well but longer think its 60 days here)

Anyways so I know several people who only make large purchases through paypal via credit card as it's another layer of protection

After hearing all the problems many people have had with their Uplay items/packages, I've decided I want to cancel my orders with them (AC Black Chest and Watch Dogs Dedsec). Only I can't find how I actually go about doing this as I see no "cancel" option anywhere, so what's the best/quickest (and cheapest... bearing in mind I don't have a landline phone) way to do this? I hear their customer service is pretty bad too.
