Well when someone says "it is worth this much" and in the same breath says "can I buy this part from you"... you need to double check

Not that he was trying to low-ball me but when we want to buy something it is always worth less to us (as far as what we want to pay) then what it might really be worth. I do it too I'm sure.

I just saw first hand the necklace and little box go for $60 shipped on eBay.

I've seen a fair amount of necklaces in box go for 35 USD in the past 2 months so when you take off fees it comes to around 30usd
But this is a hyperthetical thread and value is always debateavle

We sell on PayPal here for the most part... even if it was $35 it would only be a couple dollars in fees, and even so you assume becasue the seller wont have to get those $2 in fees you should get the savings? Hmmm.


Anyways I would like to sell it as a whole but I will split it if I have to... I think this is worth more as a complete set then split up. At least to me it would be.

I'm not trying to have an arguement but when I am asked for a value I tell the person the amount they would get out of it as that's what they want to here
And once you subtract the 10% eBay and PayPal fees and the inertion fee then that's how I reach a value( I also did not include postage costs as that is a cost to the buyer but it is irrelevant of value), but I do feel we are somewhat going off the point somewhat
I could also say that the value to me is only 30 USD as that all I am willing to spend but I have one so that's not why I put 30 down
I do hope your not offended but if you are then I shall limit myself to not posting anything that anyone could find helpful or unhelpful in any way

Its hard to tell on the internet so I put that out there before it got too aggressive/ violent /negative
I can see people don't like my valuations I've had a few people moan about them
But the way I see it
The market value isn't the highest bid something sells for in an auction
Its the value of the second highest bidder before the highest bidder bids as once the highest bidder has the one he just won
Then the second highest bidder does not need to bid that high again as the next time he will be the highest bidder and seeing as most people ask as they want to know what they could sell "item" for today, and not the long term what will it be "worth" in a month or 12

So technically it is worth what the final bidder's high bid was... technically. Because he was willing to pay that much for it.

Auctions are the worst form of telling the worth of something. I had an item with 30 watchers only sell for $26 (which was $6 over the starting price)... then a week later they were selling for $50 or more, so not a good way of telling value.

I am basically saying grabbing at the lowest auctions (and subtracting seller fess) and saying that is what it is worth is just plain wrong... there are a ton of factors that play into what something may be worth at that time.

For example if I wait and sell this when the new AC launches I could easily double the value of it. This is only one small factor... there happen to be many.

I have only seen those items sell for those values in the past 2 months as stated

But to me worth is not highest biddest highest bid as the next auction along the highest bidder won't be bidding so its the second highest bidders bid that is the best predictable price for the next sale
