Default C&B Battlefield 4 Giclees

Cook & Becker together with DICE just launched a collection of limited-edition art giclees for Battlefield 4 consisting of a mix of concept art from development of the game and two so-called Key Art prints. Most focusing on the military art aesthetic of the game or the Battlefield landscapes.

All prints are embossed, hand-numbered & signed in verso (both framed & unframed) via label by the art team. Certificates of Authenticity signed by the artists as well.

We did quite a small run off these. Most editions are not bigger than 20 pieces.

One of the most special ones we made is the hand-painted & gilded 24k Carat Gold Battlepack. Which of course is a play on the Gold Battlepack in the game and out of reach game achievements in general. As one news outlet called it "maybe the most extravagant piece of gaming merchandise ever made". Which was the point

Eh I love the first two and will take a look at the others but I find the subject matter for the most extravagant one a bit sad.

The battlepacks in Battlefield are in essence EA's method of shoehorning in freemium elements into a full priced retail game. Sure you can unlock them if you grind enough but the fact you can just buy them straight out is rather disheartening

Personally if I was a huge Battlefield fan the last thing I'd want commiserating the game would be an overly extravagant image of EA's newest monetization scheme

Agree.

I love the first 2 pictures though! Very nice and I'm glad to hear about the signatures, coa's, and limited run - will definitely look into getting 1 or maybe both of these! Thanks for the heads up!

Pretty good prints, but although battlefield is popular it doesnt really resonate a feeling compared to for instance mirrors edge or the last of us. That also shows in the fact there are not many battlefield collectors.

Imho the gold suit case should be 1 piece limited.

Too be fair the gold battlepack print does not have a lot to do with EA. It was an idea that started with us (the team at C&B) that we suggested to DICE. They liked it and gave us the go ahead and made the render for us.

We liked the idea of taking the gold battlepack and the idea of them being an object of desire for some (much like an extremely rare loot drop) and taking that to an extreme. Presenting it as a sort of over the top icon that it clearly is. (We later learned that these battlepacks are purchase-able as well but personally I feel the element of slight controversy over that adds to it. But we understand the mixed feelings).

The other prints are made and designed to showcase the art of Battlefield and the talent behind it and more straightly aimed at collectors and fans. Whether or not you like the military aesthetic is a question of taste but quality wise the art is top notch.
