I agree. WOW is a great game and the subscription model worked great for it. Not so much for any other MMO though. Off the top of my head both star wars galaxies and SWTOR either shut down or went FTP from a subscription model. It's an old system that people don't care for anymore

They are still charging for FF XI and XIV, don't they?

Played FF XIV when it came out for pc and it was awful, more like a beta and not even worth the money for the game itself.

I'll be happy to pay a fee for ESO if it means stable servers, a smoothly gameplay and especially a full game, not some FTP crap where you have to spend 5 bucks every time you want to talk to a npc in order to move on with the game. But this is just my opinion.

lol I actually consider the subscription model to result in a better game almost always. My point was simply that the industry as a whole is clearly moving away from the subscription model and with how ESO is likely to perform financially [considering its astronomically high cost] we're unlikely to see any further large scale MMO's by big publishers like with EA's SWTOR and Bethesda's ESO. ESO has been in development for years, before WOW started its decline

This is a really dumb question but it's been ages since I've used Game and the site has changed a lot since then, do they still wait until release before they charge you?

Just on their checkout for example it says "Pay Now" at the final ordering stage.

I think they charge like 0.99 cents on order and charge the rest after. That was last I purchased from GAME

They finally put up the PC version listing. Sadly only shipped to US at the moment and it is cheaper for me to get locally. Second time a CE is almost same price in Australia.
