Exclamation Forum Section Title - limiting?

Hi all,

I was wondering why the title of this forum section is "steelbook" movie collecting. I wonder about this because there are many other types of "collectible" movie (packs and single) out there that do not necessarily have a steelbook included. I for one have quite a few large collectible movie packages that don't have a steelbook. This is my opinion. Please discuss.

A simple suggestion: Change the title of this forum from "
SteelBook Movie Collecting" to just "Movie Collecting" or something similar to attract a broader audience of movie collectors (like myself for one!).

Default Re: Forum Section Title - limiting?

It's limiting on purpose, this forum is specifically for people who collect SteelBooks.

"SteelBook" is a brand name, and there is an entire sub-set of collectors who collect only SteelBook releases. They tend to be very limited in production and often retailer exclusive which means they hold their value much much better than other types of packaging.

This site started out with a very narrow scope but what we do is that when a new area of collecting gains enough support and enough knowledge we expand to cover that area as well. SteelBook collecting is one such area, which is why a SteelBook specific forum was created.

We have a general "collecting" forum for discussing other types of movie packaging and other types of collectables.

Even if movie collecting were to become popular enough to have it's own forum I would think it would still be separate from the SteelBook forum.

Ah I see. Ok then. Well, can you transfer my thread from here (steelbook forum) for "Popeye tin" to the "General" collecting forum? Thanks Symph. Thanks for clearing that up about steelbooks, as I wouldn't have known because the only steelbooks I collect are ones that may come with a collector's edition...
