I wouldn't call it detail, since it actually seemed like the brightness was just up

Now if both settings are identical, then the lighting which allows more texture to show.

In the article where this comparison came from, it's stated that textures are better on the PS3, while 360 has better framerate. It seems 360 also suffers from heavy image tearing. So the preference is whether one would prefer graphical fidelity over better framerates.
