Well you should always do what you love but the rest of the quote i do not understand.

Are you really saying you mostly collect things just so other will know you have them? It just sounded that way.

I think most of us collect because we love the franchise and the items of that franchise we collect for. Showing the items off is a bonus... and we only do it to share our passion with others who share the same passion and can appreciate the items like we do. There is always a small part of it being "Hey! Look at what I got! Don't you want it!?" with all of us... some of us are worse then others though.

Very true... we all curb our collecting from time to time for various reasons. Some of us even sell parts of our collections. But I do not collect to show others I collect because i enjoy searching for the items and finally finding the one i was looking for (or one I wasn't looking for).

So the comment from before was just worded poorly? You just meant you have no one else to actively share your collection with and that is a big part of why you collect?

I agree 100% with that part.

I have realized that my attention has shifted from playing the game to buying the game. I guess that's what a collector is

This summer I shall try to finish many a game.

This pic sums up most of us (either because we get more fun of hunting and buying those rare items or because we have no time)

It was worded very poorly
I have no one in the real world to share my collection and displaying it is becoming difficult, and storing it is more difficult as all my shelves are full and overflowing and my storage space is overflowing

But I realize I am coming across as really negative right bow
But I don't feel negative

I actually never lost sight of that. Partly because I do not have the extra money to get a game without getting my moneys worth out of it by playing it (and usually playing it within the first few weeks and then selling it)... and I never collect regular games nor CEs (especially sealed CEs). I actually have one sealed Darksiders 1 Limited Edition but only because it is so rare and was only available in Singapore. I ahve the internals of the D2 CEs but I would never care to buy sealed ones of those.

Kk... the world is right now Sorry I know am a complete ass when it comes to detail. I am a detailed ass if you will

Na not negative in general... just negative towards collecting because you are tired of the grind of it.

As requested, I have gone over this with my good eye and found the things I consider below par for a premium stature

Over panting of the skin, paint on the inside of his ruffle

Dent in his knee (looks like from casting)

Really rough casting defect and shiny part where something has touched the paint when wet

Yellow part looks like glue on the base (unless that is the colour of the unpainted statue, where something has touched when wet and pulled the paint off)

Casting defect joining 2 stones together (sharp to the touch)
side A

Side B

Casting defect

Casting defect - repaired prior to painting or after, can't tell
When light shines through I can see it is a repair as the repaired tip is a different colour and has a different translucentccy
And the repair does not have the embroidered detail

Another rough part,
Looks like part of a fingerprint in person but didn't pick it up well with camera(right lower part of PIC)

Another unpainted section (yellow/creme/baige )

The red and white striped bit was attached wrong (roughly the right place butthe join was meant to hide under the lip of the top white piece and it doesn't, in the flesh can see the join and the gap)

Unpainted part (on the brown strap in the top middle, their is a white unpainted strip)

Wow Lowly that SUCKS!

I wonder if that is why they gave it away? Could you tell if it had ever been opened? If not then that is just unlucky... or just a badly made statue in general.

I would just sell it and keep the cash.

It did not look like it had been opened and I did sit their with the sealed shipping box for 3 minutes examining it as I do with all my packages
And they got the statue from Germany and then shipped it to me so I think they just took any random statue from the uplay (German warehouse/ European store) as it took them 25 days (3 working weeks) to tell me they had the statue in hand and was ready to send it out to me and asked for the delivery address)

So either
  1. I am really unlucky
  2. They are all this bad
  3. My attention for detail is too high and nobody else noticed all the badness
