still tho sucks they did this to the collector edition
It IS kind of nice that they did it this way though - because we all were quite happy with the CE as it was announced and then afterward they announce that there are a couple of extras going to XB1 pre-orders. I think it makes it easier to take considering most of people seemed pretty content with the CE as announced. If they just came right out and said "XB1 gets more stuffz!" then it might've been more upsetting -- not sure, just thinking out loud on this though.

Mr Spencer has got a job to do, keep share holders happy and get box1 in to homes. "Gamers" only did this to them selfs with the so called console wars and pc elite. There are people who work for these company's and all they do all day is read comments and report back on the best information that makes good logic in moving forward for that brand. The last nine months can test to that.

Me I have one console brand and one is enough for me. In a way I'm kind of happy that Mr BoxOne has brought real competition to the table and it is working, look how upset some have become in the past 5 days. Why I'm happy for Mr BoxOne, This has made gamers "who want everything" think real hard now because MS has changed the game. The + items with the BoxOne version is a test to what is to come and when the new TR comes out Damn! Anything is on the table for the collectors edition and this is going to hit some hard.

Sony and least can stop getting high on their own supply (10 Mill) for a minute and look at the competition because the competition is fight back good or bad they are moving forward with their brand. Take note Sony... It only takes one person to change something then others will follow.

To those who are thinking of getting a BoxOne, from now save $10 a week and you will have plenty coin and some for the new TR when it drops in 2015. Funny thing is those who swear blind they would never touch a BoxOne may just end up getting One after all.

Damn! You got to luv competition...

Here's the official announcement sent out by the evil Templars, CD PROJEKT RED.

Quote:
CD PROJEKT RED, the developer of the critically acclaimed Witcher series of games, is excited to announce Gwent, a card game experience embedded within the upcoming open world fantasy RPG--Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The studio is also thrilled to reveal the inclusion of additional physical content in the Xbox One Collector’s Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

About Gwent

Gwent is a fast-paced card game that can be played within The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on every platform. Invented by dwarves and perfected over centuries of tavern table play, Gwent is a game of initial simplicity and ultimate depth, something beloved by both road-weary travelers during long nights around the campfire and elegant nobles looking to liven up dragging dinner parties. The game is about the clash of two armies locked in mortal struggle on a battlefield where the players are the leaders and the cards their forces. With four different factions offering unique combat styles and endless paths to victory, Gwent is every adventurer’s first choice when it comes to one-on-one card-based dueling. Take risks and think on your feet, strategize and deliver cunning combos, use potent magic and mighty hero cards and be the last one standing on the field of honor!

Key Features:
•Over 150 unique playing cards.
•4 distinct factions: the mighty and cunning Nilfgaardian Empire, the brave Northern Realms and their siege weapons, the agile and devious Scoia’tael, and the brutal monsters of No Man’s Land.
•Powerful spells allow players to control the weather and affect units on the battlefield.
•An array of combat styles caters to individual playstyles: close range with heavy knights, long range with skilled archers or artillery with powerful siege weapons.
•Powerful hero cards, unique to each faction.

The studio has also announced the inclusion of additional physical content in the Xbox One Collector’s Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt--Gwent, a highly addictive card game, and a unique cloth map of the in-game world.

The Xbox One Collector's Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt now contains:
•The standard edition of the game, containing: the official soundtrack, a beautiful and detailed map of the in-game world, unique stickers, and the developer-created "Witcher Universe - The Compendium"
•A giant, 33x24x26 cm, 100% hand painted, Polystone figure of Geralt of Rivia battling a Griffin
•An exclusive, collector grade Witcher medallion
•A one of a kind SteelBook™
•A two-hundred page artbook, containing breathtaking art from the game
•A cloth map of the game world
•Two Gwent card decks
•Huge outer and inner Collector’s Boxes you can store your Witcher merchandise in!

“Gwent is an amazing game and we're really happy to be able to bring it to the physical realm with Microsoft's help. Now we’ve got Gwent in every copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as an in-game experience for free on every platform, and a physical version in the Xbox One CE, how awesome is that?” said Marcin Iwi?ski, CD PROJEKT RED Co-founder and Joint CEO.

Gwent will be available as an in-game experience for everyone who purchases and plays The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The physical representations of two in-game decks are exclusive to the Xbox One Collector’s Edition of the game.
...in short, death to CDPR! #PS4MasterRace

This is some bullshit.

I've ordered two PC CEs. One to display the statue, the other to remain sealed. Even though I could technically get the XB1 version for the statue, I still won't. The XB1 is a joke, as are the people in charge, and I don't want anything associated with that system.

This is very crappy way to treat your fans Projekt Red...

EDIT: I just literally found out about the Tomb Raider sequel,....what the hell?! I'm only going one console this gen and I choose the PS4. So I guess I get screwed. Think all gamers should get access the the same content regardless if they're gaming on the PS4, XBone, or computer. Definitely disappointed in what people are willing to do to hurt their die-hard fans.

QUITE PATHETIC!

EDIT # 2: Cancelled my CE. It's just not the right way to do business with your fans.

I really don't think it is - even in the 2nd Witcher the Xbox 360 collectors edition had something the PC version didn't. As a company they got paid to do it again. If Sony paid them like so, it'd be a little different, but still in-line with what they've done, just a different "customer".

It's ridiculous that people are getting so angry over this that they're canceling an order outright - the version was good enough to order "and praise/celebrate/rejoice over before", what's changed in that edition since? It's things like this that make us gamers look a little whiny. (Though I admit, sometimes WE are).

Tomb Raider is a timed exclusive so you'll be able to play it some day.

As for the Witcher map and cards I guess it kinda sucks just because if I'm buying a CE is because I want the physical goodies, so removing some of those of a version of game kinda bums me out...

Being on a collectors forum, you wouldn't think this would need explaining...

The first issue is that if you want the 'best version', the Xbox One has it. That's about it for that. If you want the best or most complete CE, that's what you'd have to buy. Don't have an XB1? Ah well. They don't care.

Secondly, it's not any old company. It's a company that stated it wouldn't do platform specific content. Yet here we are. And even if they didn't, it's still not acceptable.

Thirdly, each version is $200 (or whatever it is in your region), yet there is no price reduction for the original CEs even though they have less content.

Fourthly, we are the customers who are willing to shell out $200 for a game in the first place. Not $60. Not $80. Not $100. But $200. We aren't average gamers, this is what we love.

Fifthly, the Xbox One is obviously the weakest platform at the moment and it's quite obvious as to what Microsoft is doing. Why give in to such tactics just because their console is failing?

I have CEs that I have never opened (and won't), yet I'd feel exactly the same if it were about any of those. It's not about what's in the box, it's about having the definitive version, and nobody should have to feel the need to get it for a platform they don't support. Again; we are on a collectors forum, I really cannot fathom how this wouldn't be obvious to all.
