It will be very unlikely that any retailer will have spare ones available on launch day. Most retailers have huge wait lists in the attempt to get any spare ones if they do exist. In fact there are still some retailers like ToysRUS, Target, Amazon, and even Best Buy who are still canceling preorders due to not being able to fulfill their preorders. The Ghost Edition will be the biggest pain in the butt to get if you do not have it already preordered or have a major connection to someone.

I'm still curious as to how "Rare" this CE is. I think a must for CEs should be a COA with a piece count. Either this is one rare CE or one hell of a hyped CE. I'm banking on hype personally...

Yeah, Bungie has never really released a "rare" CE to my knowledge - they're always overstocked. I'm thinking its mostly the hype and the fact that others, recognizing the hype, pre-ordered them to make a few $$'s on eBay and such. There are thousands upon thousands of people eager to play this game though, moreso than nearly any game I've seen in recent times, so as long as it lives up to the hype, these editions (even if abundant in #) may still be hard to find down the road until a few months have passed and the secondary market floods.

You have to remember that previous Bungie CE's were all under the management of Microsoft and they very rarely every have truly limited video game CE's. From everything I have seen from GameStop, Activision has been starting to lean to more limited CE's as we have started to see some of the Advanced Warfare CE's being discontinued already. Which they never cut anything off this early.

I think its a mix of being somewhat limited, extreme hype and wide availability. # doesn't really matter though, it's all about demand. The next-gen versions sold out instantly almost everywhere so you can expect that they will at least hold their value.

I like the CE ( box, content, ...) but I'm not a big fan of the game for now. Just played the beta once and it diddn't really got me excited. We'll see how it goes but I fear that the hype might fall a few weeks after release.

The CE will probably hold it's value for being remembered as one of the biggest pre order rush

you are probably right; it does look like G2 in the IGN unboxing. xbox360 versions typically has G1s, but im hoping they put a G2 in....
