I will admit this is one of the more nicer "collector's editions" I have seen but generally with versions like this, there is a lot of hype for them and companies say how limited they are, only to then find a few months later a bunch on clearance at stores.

But, this may not be the case for this, maybe with the success of the Ghost Edition for Destiny, gaming companies are really trying to make these things limited. At PAX a few weeks ago Warner Games was handing out for free the Arkham Origins Collectors Editions for 360/PS3, they must have been sitting on a bunch of them that didn't sell as they gave out nearly 100 copies combined.

I talked to Amazon and they told me they hadn't offered the collector's edition yet for pre-order, but have the ability for people to put in their email address to be notified when they become available. Didn't a few people here already pre-order it on Amazon though??

Is it just Best Buy, Amazon, and Gamestop offering pre-orders on the collector's edition? What about Target? Fry's? Walmart? Surprised they aren't offering pre-orders in store, unless they were already given their allotment number and they felt better to offer only online, but if store pick-up is available that tells me that stores will have them. Generally Best Buy stores tend to get 3-5 extra collector's editions for games (I think Destiny Ghost Edition was an exception to this) so you may have a chance getting it on launch day, but you would want to arrive early as there will probably be a line come release day of people who couldn't or forgot to pre-order.

Yeah, those AO CEs definitely had quite a few left over after the fact. They were clearanced out at many of the retailers in my area. I think this edition is significantly nicer than that, and there DEFINITELY is a lot of "hype" it seems lately with new CE announcements that sell out nearly instantly.

It could be them holding back pre-order thresholds, it could be a legitimately smaller run-size, or it could just be a crazy amount of collectors and re-sellers who make a run on what's available?

I think Amazon has already sold out of their Batmobile CEs, but I could be mistaken. I pre-ordered my Batmobile Edition through Gamestop, but got my LE through Amazon so can't vouch for it - perhaps others here could though.

Not sure about the other retailers - I just prfer BB because if you're a GCU member you get 20% off new games, so this edition becomes much more palatable when you knock-off $40, and then add a $10 reward cert ontop of that. Yeah. I'm thrifty like that

Yeah the Arkham Origins one was ok, I got a free copy at PAX but haven't opened it, dont have an XBOX 360 anymore. Amazon had told me they had not finalized what their allotment was for the Batmobile Edition and hadn't offered it up yet for pre-order, but then again they could not know, as I thought others said they had pre-ordered it from Amazon, unless they meant the limited statue edition which is up for pre-order.

Oh I agree, don't get me wrong, I love Best Buy, but they have holes in their company they need to fix. The GCU discount is quite nice too, I let my membership run out since i wasn't buying as much game wise, but I have enough reward zone points banked that I could get one of these Batmobile Editions so I may cash them in.

We’ve had some hiccups in getting these to display correctly which we’re currently working on resolving. In order to do this, we moved them all to unavailable, which is why you’re seeing “Sold Out.” While these are limited, especially the Batmobile Editions, I don’t believe we are actually sold out yet. Once we have everything buttoned down again, they should go back live.


To clarify, the Batmobile Editions will be on BestBuy.com only and only for shipping. The Limited Editions will be on BestBuy.com only and will be available for Store Pickup and shipping.

Thanks for the update. I don't think I have ever ordered on Best Buy.com, just in store, do they charge the credit card for something before it ships or after it ships like Amazon does?

They will charge you and then put the money back in a few days. They will repeat this process almost every week.

Interesting, not sure if I like that. I have store credit though I guess I can use.
