Hi,

on my brown box from GAME with the corner protection peices it says 9KG but on the DPD shipping label it says 1.0KG which is a mistake, i think they meant 10KG

Thanks for that.

Ordered one from Japan and the shipping weight was coming out at 9.3 KG, which I thought was on the high side because the standard PS4 is about 5 KG tops.

Must be that black box it comes in.

So what's the general thought on the value of these, I'm really torn - I'd love ot buy one (to use) but I can't justify the ~£1000, especially as I'm fairly certain the value will drop...especially if Sony release a non-numbered edition.

I'm tempted to sell a lot of my stuff to fund it, but I really don't think it's worth the investment...what about you guys?

edit - I read some of the first few pages and I tend to agree with twisted that the value will drop, once the £1000 payers dry up there will be a natural drop. Think I'd happily pay over the RRP - I offered some guy on eBay £500 + I'd come and collect and pay cash in hand but he wasn't interested, didn't even come back with a counter or reply, I offered another guy £600 and he politely declined, I figured someone might be interested in a no-hassle deal...such a shame the Game promotion was a shambles.

I'd be very surprised to see one sell for less than £900 on Ebay. Remember Ebay + Paypal charge the seller about 13.4% on the whole transaction. So the seller has to take that into account too.

For a cash pick up maybe you could snag one for £800. But remember these are very limited. Remember when the original backwards compatible PS3 FAT was launched in November 2006, many years later they were selling for over $2000 on Ebay!

I entered the 'shambles' competition and submitted the form like within 40 seconds and still failed to get one On another day the page failed to load in time! so I had no choice but to buy at premium.

Good luck with getting one at a good price though.

Maybe, I just think there's a lot of hysteria at the moment that will die down.

As said by twisted there are examples of much more limited hardware being worth substantially less so you never know.

I still have the Sony picture competition to hold onto

How much did you pay for yours anyway?

Yes maybe.

I bought mine for about £900 including shipping from Japan. Not sure if I'll get hit with some tax. Let's see. If I was patient I reckon I could have got it for £800 though.
