In the us maybe. That's why they won't release the small 3ds with swappable face plate. Still doing great in other regions.

I agree with that statement my friend, but it just seemed like someone trolling, if you weren't then I'll recant my statement, but I can't even fathom how ANYONE would make that statement and believe its true?

Not fanboying in the least and I definitely don't "don't like" (sorry for the double negative) your post. Just baffled by where you get your facts.

Not counting total volumetric sales, but let's just look at the past several months alone where the 3DS sells more units than the x1 and wiiu (which isn't saying much there I know). It's the #2 selling platform this year alone (behind the PS4), let alone all the success its had year after year being #1. Also, there are more 3rd party games than ever being announced and released on the 3DS on top of a significant 1st party show of support by Nintendo. Its true, I like Nintendo, but I hate their WiiU and what they've done with it -so I'm not disagreeing with you because I "dislike" your statement - its just not a correct statement. But maybe you've got some other definition of "dead" that I don't know about?

Really? Do you own one? Just curious if perhaps there's a owner/non-owner bias somehow effecting our differing views? Seems like I've heard nothing but good news regarding the 3DS from gamers, reviewers, developers, and investors alike. That's primarily what I base my sentiment regarding it on (factual market performance and expected market "enthusiasm" though that's significantly harder to quantify) and why I defended its performance in the fashion and manner that I did.

Just curious why people think its "dead" or "dying"? Is it just a sense that "its old and been around for awhile" or maybe the sense that the "golden goose has laid its final egg"? I would tend to think that anyone who follows anything market-related to Nintendo at all would completely think the opposite and that's why I'm just so amazed at these statements

Yes I own 3DS. Actually I own several 3DSes. I have the Zelda 3DS, Zelda 3DS XL, Animal Crossing 3DS XL, Pikachu 3DS XL, and MM new 3DS XL.

I haven't played my 3DS since March. I really don't know what to play after TLoZ MM. I used to love Monster Hunter when it was on PSP, but I hate it on 3DS. Makes my hand hurt every time I play it (both 3DS and new 3DS).

I spent tons of time on Animal Crossing New Leaf with my girlfriend, but the home design game isn't for me... There's no new games really interests me besides fire emblem, and I have to buy two copies to play the whole game...

Okay, so clearly ownership was not an attributing factor. So your sense that its "dying" is because there are no new games that interest you? I'm just bored at the moment and legitimately trying to find out why someone would claim its dead or dying when all fiscal indices seem to say otherwise.

Also, regarding FE, that DOES stink for those who play only the Japan versions -- the US version will not be split up like that one, so at least we'll save a few $'s that way (though watch NOA try and charge us like $49.99 because its "two games in 1")
