I don't agree with listing anything for insane prices purely to make a profit. I tend to avoid those auctions, etc.

I know that at the end of the day, if someone chooses to pay the extra £50 or whatever, it's up to them, I mean, if you're desperate enough for an item, you'll pay anything for it I suppose. I've paid a little over the odds for one or two items in the past, but I really grudge doing it.

Anyway, I'm done on the topic. I know both sides of the argument so not much else can be said xx
Sorry, I wasn't directing it at you but I know there are some who will be taking it to the extreme.

What I will say is, like you, I've had to overpay to get what I want so these little bits here and there do nothing more than even things out...hell I'm going to end up paying ~£20 each for those stupid max payne bullet pens when I should have got 2 for free

The problem is double standards, it seems OK for folk to list some ultra rare press kit for £1000+ yet if someone needs to wheel a deal a little to get what they want they get jumped on.

Now lets get back to the thread topic.

that's because there are a finite number of press kits that regular people cannot get.

By ordering a second copy only to make profit, you have denied someone else, including members on here from buying a single copy at list price.

I honestly think my one extra copy would have just gone to another eBay rip-off merchant to make a shed-load on...this is like many other things - tickets for events being a good example, the early bird get's the worm - it's tough but like I said, win some lose some.

I would sell my spare at well under the eBay prices as a compromise - but it seems this is unwelcome too, I'm sorry but I'm not going to give away one of the few perks I get these days.

Anyway, I'm done defending my actions - there's a lot worse going on in this world to worry about.

Yeah, look 50 quid isn't the end of the world

A guy boasting he sold a copy for 600 is pretty galling, though. that's absolutely being a rip off merchant

yeah, I guess it's tough tho - leaving things to bidding can backfire...and then you can get non-payers and other issues which are a real pain, hell if someone offererd me £300 I'd be nuts not to accept, but I'm happy to take £150 - if anyone is interested first to firm the offer get's it and I won't take higher offers to gazump folk (I have been offered more before and turned it down on principle - U3 EE being a great example).

I dont set the prices, the market sets the price. So get over it

Again if its okay for someone to make a killing on press kit, then its okay for someone to make a profit off a CE. Press kit reselling = CE reselling in my eyes.

Can we drop this discussion please? Some people are capitalist and some people are socialist

I've bought stuff then sold it on (not preorder tho) but I've always intended to keep the stuff it's just other stuff that I want more has come up so I've sold it on to pay for that item.

Why are you still arguing about this?

You can buy as many as you want before it's sold out, and resell it for as much as you want, but it's always a selfish attitude no matter what kind of arguments you use. I've done it a couple of times before. There's no need to try to justify that or make it seem it's a good thing to do, because it isn't. People will have their right to comment on that attitude. If it was OK to do that nobody would be bothered to comment. Heck, when an item is available in very limited numbers, by keeping more than a copy you're stealing others the chance of having it, that alone is bad enough as well and I do it all the time.
