Default Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection Special Edition for Europe April 22nd

Not really unexpected; Square Enix announced yet another PSP special edition for one of their upcoming games in Europe, the Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection. To be released on April 22nd.

Will add more details as found.

Quote:
As if PSP owners don't already have enough to look forward to with The 3rd Birthday and DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY both releasing in the next month or so, we're announcing today that FINAL FANTASY IV: The Complete Collection will be available in Europe on April 22nd! Not only that, but it will come in another awesome Special Edition package with a bunch of extra goodies available inside, as you can see below.

In case you're unaware, FINAL FANTASY IV: The Complete Collection is a remade version of FINAL FANTASY IV and its sequel THE AFTER YEARS, especially for the PSP. It features improved graphics and music, as well as full CG cut scenes and a brand new gameplay scenario that links together the FINAL FANTASY IV story with THE AFTER YEARS.

The special edition of the game features a similar fold-out box to DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY, as you can see above, and contains a selection of high quality art cards, a PSP screen cloth featuring FINAL FANTASY IV character artwork and a piece of DLC for DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY. We'll be announcing what exactly the DLC will be in the near future, so keep checking Square Enix Members to find out...

It's a solid little package, but I must admit to being slightly disappointed. A soundtrack would've been great for this special edition. Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection has both original and remastered tracks in the game, and a CD included featuring both versions seems perfect.

Actually, North America is getting a little something. We'll get some cards featuring Amano artwork and some DLC. Nice for only a $30 pricetag.

Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection Comes With Dissidia 012 DLC And Amano Art Cards

Square Enix is bundling Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection with a couple of bonus items. North American copies include Final Fantasy IV cards with artwork from Yoshitaka Amano.

A Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy DLC code is in the package too for Cecil’s "Knight of the Twin Moon" costume.

As we mentioned earlier, Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection has three stories – Final Fantasy IV, The After Years, and an all new Interlude episode that takes place in between. The PSP game lets players select either the original music composed by Nobuo Uematsu or rearranged songs. Square Enix also added three language options: Japanese, French, and English.

Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection comes out on April 19 in North America.

Mandingo do you know if these will be a first press edition like games released with cardboard slip cases or will all the batches in the future have the extra content?

I don't have a verified answer for that, sorry. But the article never made mention of any first-print runs, and being that we're close to the end of the PSP's life-cycle, I would imagine all copies available will include this bonus content. I suspect, as always, Square Enix prints more copies than actual demand, given the popularity of Final Fantasy games. I doubt there will even be a need for subsequent batches.
