Unfortunately on almost everything I buy I make sure the seller is going to ship it properly and tell them how I think they "were going to ship it all along but i want to be sure" (I say it that way to be less patronizing). Even then some still ship a skimpy and cheaply as possible.

I'm a bit the same, if it's something I'm concerned about getting damaged, I plead with the seller to make sure it's packed properly, also trying to word it without being condescending or patronizing.

Most times it pays off.
