Oh great....voting for waste of money but not giving any statement....
Most of the things people doing is in some way waste of money each in its own way. I think it is all a way of how much you do something. I think it's okay to buy his kid special edition of Disney movies or special Lego Editions (I loved playing lego  sometimes I think about sneaking up to the attic to play a few hours with my lego stuff  )But your kid should also learn that things which are not coming in a special package or with special goodies can also be great and should be treated with the same respect.
