Motorstorm Collection and more from the UK
Hello,
Welcome to my collection! Ill be giving a few stories along the way, but if you just want to look at the pics feel free As a start Im not a die hard collector, more an admirer. I started collecting small knick-knacks like preorder keyrings and stuff for my favourite games. After a while, it grew to rarer editions of games as I started to discover ebay more and the rare items it would yield. (Im talking a few years ago, before the nightmare it is now) I generally dont keep things sealed, I figure I usually spend enough so I prefer to open them, but everything I open I ensure stays in as perfect condition as I can. Also, I dont buy many games as such. I see some people on my friends list with trophy lists 100s of games long. Ill maybe buy a new game every few months, so when I do I usually have spare cash to buy the LE or goodies to go with it. So, Motorstorm. I got it bundled with my PS3 on launch day, and to be honest wasnt expecting much, as was the quality of other off-road games for the PS2. 24hrs later I was in love the game, and have been in love with the series since. It helped being a real life petrol head too. It seems no-one really collects for Motorstorm, even amongst the die-hard stormers I know. I try and get as much stuff as I can, although down to my own stupidity and down to idiots on ebay, I could have had a lot more than this. This is an overview of the bulk of my collection. It was taken 6 months ago as I was moving house. I couldnt replicate this photo now as it required an empty room. As did these... These are 6 foot by 4 foot bus stop posters. Like I say, it fascinates me what gets listed on ebay A full overview and details of my collection can be found here- http://community.eu.playstation.com/...highlight/true Look for an update soon, as in addition to the above, Ive recently come across more discs, more shirts and a hoody, posters and a 3rd press kit of Apocalypse (those yellow tins) which Im keeping sealed Now more, A small collection of GTA4 stuff Foam "shocker" hands, TW@ mousemat, statue of happiness, postcards, license plate, strategy guides, stickers, the full special edition, an Xbox360 sized map from the Lost and Damned expansion (pretty rare) and... An I heart LC pin, Official Invite to the GTA4 launch party, R* keyring, and a genuine pewter Key to the City, which were given out if you managed to 100% GTA4 within 3 weeks of release. And yes, I earned this, it wasnt bought! Now, Im something of a PS3 fan, and this year has seen a release from pretty much all the major Sony exclusives, and in huge collectors editions too. This all started when I saw a blog post about the helghast edition this year. Somebody commented along the lines of- "So thats the God of war 3 ultimate edition, GT5 CE, LBP2 CE and now this. Who does Sony expect to buy all these and how much room have they got!" It intrigued me, as to just how much room these would indeed take up. So I decided if I was financially able to do so, to try it. And just to make things harder, I tried getting the LEs to the rest of the franchise too! Im afraid I sold the copy of LBP2 that was included in the CE to try and get some money back, but it was replaced with a EU steelbook so its now a little more impressive (to me anyway). I also want a better copy of infamous SE in time. That one has a crease down the spine. I wasnt planning on buying this, but I needed a new dualshock, and my local HMV had this for £29.99, alongside other dualshocks for £42.99! Also, the copy of KZ3 had a barcode on the back, instead of a "NOT TO BE SOLD SEPARATELY" mark, so I traded it in for another £5 off. Win! I also managed to get a few extra items for Resistance 3 The poster I plan to frame, as I think its a pretty cool artwork. The small brown packet is actually the chimera tooth necklace preorder bonus, and the T-shirt I won in a competition because no-one else entered! Now, the last thing missing from those editions is of course the Uncharted 3 Explorer Edition. The problem was, I knew if I got it, I would instantly want other rare and special edition Uncharted items (I have no willpower). And as we all know they can end up literally costing fortunes.... But, I couldnt say I got all of Sonys big exclusives in their CEs and then say I missed arguably the biggest game of the year. So yes, I have an explorer edition preordered. And here are the newest additions to my collection, literally a week old... Well, Ive had the steelbook since U2 release, however the disc has been stuck in my PS3 after it YLOD as soon as I put the disc in. Its still there to this day... The U2 press kit and U2 OST was picked up this last week, and the U1 and U2 copies are actually sealed (Yay!). I did pick them up to try and sell on, but I think Im keeping them now. Unfortunately, and this was another problem I knew I would have if I started getting Uncharted stuff, was I have no room for it. So some of my Assassins Creed collection is being sold. Before it does I got it together for one last pic Im keeping the comics and LE strategy guides, because they are brilliant, and the white edition as I prefer it over the black, the Codex chest and codex itself, and am completely split whether to sell the Altair figure or not. I need the space, and Im not too attached to it, but I know they are bloody expensive to get hold of again. Decisions, Decisions. As I said Im a petrol head, and as such do have a few GT5 items The CE of GTPSP, the CE of GT5 and the CE sleeve, all on top of the Signature edition. I wanted the CE as well because it came with 5 extra postcards the Signature edition didnt. Also, I bought a GT5 press kit, and copied the entire contents of the media disc onto the USB drive in the Signature edition. Beat that! I sold the press kit on, and at a small loss actually, but I do have quite a rarity in this usb drive now And now, a final push of a few items I had to hand From top, A French version of the Forza 2 Limited edition, which features the Peugeot 908 lemans car, I think this sleeve was exclusive to France due to Peugeots heritage, and it came with a voucher for that car. I have the rest of the contents elsewhere. A 500pc jigsaw box for Gears of War. Truthfully, I have no idea if its genuine or fake, but the box itself is really good quality. The omen is raised and all glossy, and the Gears text is reflective silver with a rainbow iridescence quality to it. I just use it to hold my Gears LEs, which I have all 3 of. Next is a Asian LE of Resi5. I only have the 2gb chainsaw USB drive, the rest of the box is empty, although the box did come with the sale of the USB. A small car sign for Burnout Revenge, a parody of sorts of the "Baby on Board" ones. The Undead Nightmare OST. And a MGS4 gift card, which I liked the art work on. Whew, I have a few more things, but they are currently stashed away here and there, but will try and update in time with more. Unfortunately as I said Im running out of room, and as of next year I will be limiting myself to nothing bigger than steelbooks and sleeves. However I have reserved a last bit of space for a few things, and as such im on the look out for- A complete Uncharted: DF Press kit. A GTA4 branded grenade (seriously, although they are deactivated...) A GTA4 Pisswasser Keyring A GTA4 set of handcuffs (they look more like giant zip ties than traditional cuffs) A GTA4 Lost and Damned sticker which has the game logo and the Biker chick Any and all Motorstorm stuff I can find. I also want to appeal to if anyone knows anything at all about an original Motorstorm Press/Media Kit. I have scoured the internet and found nothing. If you can prove such a thing exists, please, please let me know, even if its just a link and not for sale. I must just know to be at peace Well, thanks for looking, and thanks more-so if you read everything! Hope youve enjoyed! Last edited by Kegs11; 10-15-2011 at 01:23 PM. |
