It's one of those items considered "useful" for survivalists

Like the magnesium fire starters

Paracord is incredibly strong and flexible rope, also packs up tightly hence the popularity of the bracelets

Rope is useful for survival etc.

It's a super cheap addition

I have no idea why that edition is so expensive

Makes sense... I do not think media type was the factor, it was the company (Sony/Microsoft).



It is amazing how far ahead of the curb Sony was with Blu Ray... too far ahead actually. They were so far ahead it hurt sales.
