Do you buy 2 copies of the same game?!

If I really like a particular CE I buy another copy too. So I have one to play on and one to keep sealed.



Does anyone else buy more than one copy of the same CE?

No, I simply couldn't afford to.

Sometimes, I'll have a standard copy of a game, and then I'll end up buying the CE later down the line, and I'll still keep the standard one (since I don't get rid of anything), but I wouldn't do it the other way round.

I do sometimes buy multiple copies of a CE though, but only if there are differences. So I wouldn't buy 2x the exact same CE, but I'd buy regional variants, for example xx

Very rarely do I buy multiple copies even if there are differences, simply due to money and space restraints.

There are exceptions however, especially those few gems I hold dear to my heart. For example - I have a few versions of Dark Souls still sealed including CE and PTDE editions.

I've only done it on just a few of my CE's.

I tend not to pay the full retail price but then I'm still buying 2 copies of the same version lol.

That's good logic Vhal, I should follow your lead and just get ones with substantial regional differences as my present course is unsustainable due to storage restraints.


I think it's to do with my OCD. I kinda impulse buy when I don't actually need it.

I buy doubles of collector editions but only for awesome games. I will also pick up a double if I see it really cheap. Like I have picked up CE's for $5-$15 while they're still near full retail everywhere else.

I also want a full sealed standard PS3 game collection, so I buy doubles for the ones I want to play. The ones I dont really want to play, I'll just wait and pick them up really cheap later. I didnt start off doing a sealed game collection so I have some work to do lol. Also, with places like Best Buy giving out coupons, I'll pick up like 2 or 3 of the same game for like $5, especially if they have collector editions. I'll buy all their collector editions which is usually 1 or 2.. since they don't specify coupons cant be used on CE's.

The only time i will buy double of a CE is if it has something like a statue in it. Even then i will buy a sealed one on release & just wait until a cheap used one comes up so i can display what i want to display. The only other exception would probably be variations of the same game,which can be a pain in the but. Some games have like 5 or more different variations for whatever reason,not good & damn exspensive,lol

I don't often buy multiples of the same game where CEs are concerned. I have the odd one or 2 copies of the same game where there are different variations of CE for the same game. I also, occasionally, buy another copy of a game I already have in a CE to fill a steelbook with. That would only be on a either a major price drop or a pre-owned copy if it's cheap enough..
