Default CE's an a investment?

I'm curious to find out who buys CE's as a investment to sell later on. I have CE's that are now valued less then what I paid for and others that sell for much higher.

If you sold your entire collection, how much $$ you think it could be worth?

Maybe it's cause there are so few of us collectors that CE's are not high in demand. I'm hoping values for these games could increase over time.

I could see between $500-$1000 for mine. I have about 30 CE's.

There are plenty of collectors the problem is most CE's are produced in quantities that do not at all make them collectible

There were 600,000+ copies of the Halo 4 LE

That thing is going to be worth diddly squat if it isn't already

Quality and Rarity are most important

A single truly rare and desirable CE can be worth 10x it's price in 10 years but those rarely occur

I've paid A LOT for my collection, so much so that I can't understand how I managed it *shudder*, but I guarantee I wouldn't get the same back if I sold it all. But I buy for enjoyment, so I don't mind xx

If you really want to buy for investment you have to be really picky.

So, only CE's that are confirmed produced in low numbers.
Popular game.

Perhaps better investment imho is statues and artwork (That are limited)

your right about the number of copies made. That's if many of the copies make it 10-15 years from now. I paid $100 for that Halo 4 CE which is being sold for much less now.

I pre-ordered GTA 5 collectors edition from Gamestop for $150.00. Since it's still not sold out, I guess I'm paying more for It now then if I wait to buy it on ebay.

I don't think collecting would ever be a good financial investment although my collection is worth more than I paid for it. That's mainly because the majority of my stuff is old RPG's from before CE's became so widespread so are just normal editions but have almost all increased in value.

Also, seeing as some of my oldest games are the ones that have increased in value the most but are 15 - 20 years or more old, with inflation they may be worth more but could technically be less than I paid. Unless of course they've increased a massive amount, like Earthbound for example.

Exactly. So unless you're buying one to play and one to keep sealed for yourself and the sentimentality, I loathe the scumbags who want to flip and love that they will lose 99% in the end of the time.
