Default How do you feel about collecting in 2012?

Are you looking forward to all the new editions coming out? Or are you dreading them?

For me, it's a bit of both. I am really looking forward to seeing and buying all the new editions that will be coming out throughout this year, and also doing a bit of hunting for ones of previous years that sadly, I missed out on.

However, there's part of me dreading it all, and that's mainly due to the fact of, it really does cost a lot of money when you think of it, not that I really grudge it, as this is something I love to do, and I think now that it will always be part of me, but also, it takes up a hell of a lot of space!

I live in a tiny 2 bed house, and there is no room at all for all the editions I currently have, never mind the ones I'll soon have...

Ah well... Maybe one day I'll live in a giant house and I can have a massive room, purely dedicated to gaming xx

The only sure-fire CEs for me this year are the CEs (if ever) of Bioshock Infinite, Atelier Meruru, Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2, The Witch and a Hundred Cavalrymen, The Last of Us, Sly 4 and Borderlands 2.

As always, I won't buy all the CEs of the year. Just the ones I know I'll actually cherish. If anything, the only thing that won't let me rest until I have it is the Amalur Exclusive Edition.

I'll be buying all the ones I can afford, with my most anticipated ones of course taking priority over the others

Sadly I missed out on the Amalur Signature Edition, but if I can pick one up later in the year for a decent price then I'll be happy, not holding out any hope of nabbing an "Exclusive"

I also have to shell out on a tonne of new display shelves, since all my current ones are full, and many of my CEs are sitting on the floor in front of the shelves, and with a toddler, that's just playing with fire tbh

Hopefully I win the lottery this year... xx

I wouldn’t exactly call them New Year resolutions but this year I kind of promised myself that I would find a focus for my collecting rather than the that would be nice on the shelf route I started to follow in the last quarter of 2012.

Whether or not I pick-up CE or LE versions I want to focus on a few of my favourite franchises like Silent Hill and Tomb Raider this year. And as it was the PS1 that pulled me off the path of gaming on computers, I plan on hitting eBay for a PS1 and PS2 console at some point. Xbox360 is a great machine, love the quality user interface, but definitely going to be a Playstation focused year for my new CE purchases.

Currently on pre-order I have Max Payne 3 CE (although I’m carefully price watching this one), Final Fantasy XIII-2 Crystal Edition, and ME 3 CE.

I’m contemplating ordering Soul Calibur 5 CE and a few other games but need to watch cash flow because a little voice in my head keeps nagging me to buy a Playstation Vita. This is a strange as handheld systems usually have zero appeal to me.

Looks like being a fun year…

Being a newbie I need to curb my enthusiasm for the hobby. I'm in the process of selling our home to move closer to our parents(babysitters),so money is tighter than usual.

I'll only get ones that appeal to me,not necessarily ones i'd enjoy playing but just ones that I think look pretty or cool.

ME3 and SC5 are next on my list with MGS already ordered.

Its steelbooks and artbooks that get my motor running so I really need to be disciplened for a change, rather than the frivolous free spending buffoon I normally am.

Halo 4, GTA V most likely, might pick up some other collector's editions.

Not sure what I can afford this year, personally. I seem to mostly buy CEs in franchises I really really like, and so far there hasn't been a CE announced for any of them yet. We'll see, I suppose. I might have to skip on some I would have liked though. Bills come before games.

I started collecting and it was quite horrible. Can't believe I sold half of what I started just to be able to afford the CE's I want and start a steelbook collection
Can't believe to say this but I rather collect CE's more than video game related steelbooks

Screw I'll try to start all over again with a better year lol
