Trouble is - becomes self-fulfilling as there will now be a mass of multiple orders bought for profit being returned as people fear for profit which will push desirability further down...

as stated - lot's of returns as the profit not worth it as this CE has been completely downgraded.

US is the only true CE however @ 53K and with a cheap alternative that's not really all that worthwhile.

I'm so glad the Uncharted 3 Explorer Edition didn't suffer like this...altho it has similar in reverse with the US getting the countless CE whereas EU got the extremely rare EE (was it ever confirmed how many?). Also it was nice that the editions were different enough to get both versions (IMO anyway) - the US had a nice steelbook and I like the fact the chest thing had drawers for the ring/buckle.

Well, when you consider that this was - apparently - sold out everywhere in no time flat . . .rumours of ?500+ on ebay . . .all and sundry scrambling for a copy . . tears and threats of suicide for the unfortunate "too-lates" . . . .

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I was talking to a serious CE nut who works for GAME and he was recounting all these tales of how 2K wanted to keep this a very "limited" edition and of their desire to produce a seriously collectable CE - turning down pleas to make more, blahdy blah . . .christ, what a load of bollocks.

My suspicion is that the publishers were co-erced into upping the numbers as part of the exclusivity deal in whatever country. To be honest, my blood runs cold when i hear that GAME have procured another "exclusive" because there always seems to be some sort of hassle wherever they - and to be fair, Zavvi - are concerned. Might not be always their fault but that's the way it seems.

I can remember sulking over missing out on the Uncharted 3 Chest because those twats at Irish Gamestop wanted the pre-order money upfront. But at least everything went smoothly with that and all the people that bought it were more than happy.

I suppose the only upside is that all the scalpers stockpiles have now become worthless which means that anybody who still craves this edition can have one.

Not much consolation to the rest of us mugs who must all feel royally fucked over by this time.
