Hi

I apologize for contacting you through directly, but take-two Australia and other contact sources don't seem to be replied to and as you are the National Sales Director at Take 2 Interactive you seemed the right person to contact.

I wished to pass on some customer feedback that I am very disappointed with Borderlands 2 Loot chest

Late last month I received my copy of the Borderlands 2 loot chest edition. I was very disappointed to discover the look chests are not actually limited. Photographs released before the game came out indicted each loot chest was individually numbered to 53,160 while my copy has no number and therefore a limitless number of loot chests could have been produced. This greatly diminishes the value and rarity of the loot chest edition. Adding to this, various game stores have the item back in stock, indicate endless copies are being produced further limiting the value and rarity of each copy.

Customers who purchase collectors editions should be considered valuable customers; they pre-order the game and are prepared at least launch price for the game, and will not buy the title second hand.

take-two has done this before to collectors, this has previously occurred with the Duke Nukem Collectors edition and is very disappointing.

Given the overproduction of collectors editions in the past, it greatly decreases the lure to pre-order titles like Aliens and instead wait until collectors editions are bargain binned like Bioshock 2 was.

Respectfully yours

Dean Williams

Seconded, also was the email address public, i'd love to voice my disappointment as well.

Yes contact the Trading Standards Authority. They will deal with false advertisement claims.

I doubt they would do anything about this though

The only thing is, nowhere did they themselves explicity state that it would be limited to 53K worldwide, that was our assumptions. So we don't have a leg to stand on xx

Well a mass boycott of 2k would certainly hurt them a bit. Or even a sign petition threatening to would get their attention. In all honesty though, it's not that bad a collector's edition.. Nothing like the RE6. I still have nightmares after watching that awful unboxing video.

Everyone seems to be reaching for their pitchforks over this... but I'm still kind of confused as to why. They said numbered certificate of authority. I'm not aware of anywhere that they claimed it would be limited to a specific quantity x out of XXX. So claiming false advertising is a bit ridiculous.

It seems like everyone was just hoping to jump on a bandwagon with a limited, AAA game title, collector's edition and are a bit sore that it didn't turn out that way.

Yeah, I pointed this out too:

As much as I'm disappointed it's not as limited as we expected, but I'm still pretty effing pleased with the contents. Huge amount of value for money right there (well, for me anyway. Not so much for those that bought it on ebay at WAY over inflated prices) xx

Is the actual content of the Loot chest edition not the same as what it shows on the cover? Sir Hammerlocks Journal, the cloth map and the Wall chart seem to look different. Also, where is the comic book download? I can't find it anywhere in my Loot chest edition.
