whose gonna believe zavvi and there numbers anyways?..c'mon..if it were really just 6000-8000 units..there's should have been no reason for price markdowns..just to move inventory..they probably churned out more..anticipating it to be hugely popular..plus they need additional copies for exchanges and lost orders for all the damaged ones, and customers saying lost in transient..etc...i mean for zavvi to control 90% of inventory for WORLDWIDE..and still some weeks later..and after months of pre-order time, they can't even sell at discounted price from list, so they knock it down even more?..i mean for just 8000 units..the steelbook should have been cool enough to warrant a purchase for steelbook collectors, and let alone it being a AAA game along with all the die hard fans for MGS...there's MORE THAN 8000 UNITS..is what i'm getting at.

My order just arrived, and all i can say is...wow.

Complete mess, I'll post some pictures later if i can, but basically, i received a big white bag... I open it to find the cardboard packaging box busted of course, but also opened, and the contents outside of it.

To my surprise, the actual MGS box condition isn't as bad as i expected it to be at first, but then again, the corners are crushed etc, and its just no good. For an item bought new and sealed at full price, I'm returning it asap. This is honestly the first time I've ever thought to bother with a return, as I'm usually okay with imperfections here and there, just didn't expect this.

Just get one locally, I know that there's still some Xbox360 versions at my JB store. Don't what format you bought yours for?!

PS3 version. Its not available in my local stores, but JB do still have the 360 version in stock online. I'll think about it for the time being.

Yeah,mine came damaged. I didnt get mine from Zavvi. It was packed in packing peanuts in a box but something cut through the packing box right into games box and out the other side. It looks like someone stabbed a knife right into the fucking thing. Im betting it was a knife too, as it's a very smooth thin tear, perhaps customs opened the packing box wrong. Other than that there's no other damage.

My luck, they pack it right and someone had a stab at it. Im guessing the contents is fucked up too.

Perhaps they may have some PS3 version in-store somewhere?? You may need to call around or ask them to located one. Surely not all 2000 units have sold out for AU/NZ region??

Sheeesh...of all places for it to go wrong it had to be at customs! To what sounds like a chance to receive a mint copy only to be destroyed by customs is a real kick in the gut! If it's not one thing, it's the other...when can you win??
