Re: Assassins Creed Statue/Figures
Admittedly I have all of the collectors edition statues as well as the exclusive resin ones. (I'm jealous that you have the attackus statue).
If you'd like to see my collection, it's all here: http://collectorsedition.org/forums/...ad.php?t=18104 I can't help but agree with the Desmond theory! While playing as ezio I imagined a future AC in the modern world, running round as Desmond in a massive futuristic environment. That'll never happen now. I admire that they've removed a single entity, and opened up the possibility to theoretically style your own character, yet we're still only limited to whatever lifeless character they give us. Edward, to me, never earnt his assassin rights, and it feels as though the recent characters haven't had quite the same effort into their story as ezio did. The Edward/blackbeard and Arno/else dioramas are awful quality, but the collectors edition items, although cheap, are of a reasonable quality. If rather less cards, cds, music boxes books etc, and a bit more quality on the statues tbh. The witcher 3 CE is a prime example of what I'd want from an AC CE. The attakus one is indeed amazing. I got an artist's proof edition (12/20 made). Best statue of AC their is for me. The statues is the collectors editions are indeed better then the seperate ones. Still, I stick to the premium ones because of space and quality. I like to give money, if I got quality in return. I don't have that feeling when I get an ac CE. It's like I spend a lot of money on 20 pieces of junk. I'm a fan of the witcher. I played the second one and now I pre ordered the premium edition of the third instalment. This game got a 10 out of 10 on gamespot (I trust gamespot, they give good reviews). If you look on how original, innovative and unique that game is, then I question AC even more. I can agree on black flag, that it was more of a pirate game in terms of gameplay. On the other side, I still felt that I was playing an ac game. You were involved in the observatory, you got a lot of contact with other assassin's, you're enemies were templars. In the end you really understood the creed and became an assassin. But that's not the reason I love black flag. The reason why is because it was innovative, original etc... It felt like they were back on track. If the next game (unity) pulls you down again, then you lose your trust in the series. Do this a couple times... and the franchise colapses. That's what's happening now I think. When did this began? Well, you could say at AC3. They started to make that game after ac brotherhood in 2011. That was the moment they kicked out (or left) Patrice Desilets, the inventor of AC. I think that was a crucial moment for the series in a negative way. It was very clear he was the mastermind behind the series. Since he left, the only thing that was important was money. When Patrice left, the passion left (not with everyone but mostly) and the money stepped in. |

Re: Assassins Creed Statue/Figures
Aaah, that's news I never knew! About the time they killed off Desmond then. Big shame that.
I noticed the game has become a lot more abstergo based, in that they seem to be controlling the modern worlds media. I've not actually finished Unity due to all the glitches, it put me off a little and I haven't got back into it yet, so I've no idea what the outside story of the game is. What I do like to see, is that victorian London has cars... I'm not excited because of something silly like driving, but just that it shows how modern were getting with the games. I can't wait for a modern day one, and even a future one! There's still a lot of potential for the franchise. Hopefully the movie next year is amazing and Ubisoft get the drive to push the franchise where it deserves to go. |

About syndicate...The cars... alright, nice. But it felt like this was there great invention!!! The next thing in AC gaming!!!.... wait wut? After playing a couple gta games and others I'm not impressed because they made cars. The franchise has potential, but when money is the passion you strive as a company... bad things happen. That's gaming history, it's Murphy's law. |

They've skipped 79 years of history in one game, which means the next game could see us in 1947 when WW2 peace treaties were signed and jeeps were made, then we could easily find ourselves having a 2020 game come 2017! I'm excited about the future prospects of assassins creed. |

You think in 2018 we will see a game set in 2100? When the games used to pride themselves on being somewhere towards the historical representations or a small time slice of the period that they were delicting

Re: Assassins Creed Statue/Figures
I never correlated Patrice leaving with Desmond dying -- that's a great point there! The whole "story within a story" thing is my 2nd favorite part of the AC series -- to hear that they've killed it basically in ACU was some of the saddest news. (my favorite part is the hidden ciphers and messages buried within the game - I enjoy using these skills in something as benign as gaming!).
I don't own any of the AC non-CE statues though, but the one from AC3 that was being debated about being "real" or not was probably the one that tempted me the most thus far! Hopefully we'll see some other nice ones like that down the road and hopefully we'll see more of what I love in the next AC game!

If this forum didn't exist, I'd never of owned such a beautiful work of art. In all honesty, the non CE statues are some of the nicest, especially the Macfarlane Toys Edward. This is why I feel that Ubisoft should include a resin CE statue as opposed to pvc + other bits and bobs. PureArts already make the CE pvc statues, and they also made that amazing resin Connor, so there's no reason they can't do it. |

Perhaps all of these things are coincidence, perhaps they are all related and crucial individual reasons for the drastic changes seen in assassins creed or perhaps it is fans of the early games clutching at straws trying to find blame in something that is becoming stale. I am drawn some what towards the latter as we get further away from acb:s release, not many are playing it and it is growing stronger in there minda as they reminisce on it and gloss over the bad to only remember the good
